Tandem Intros New Data Mining Server Engine

The Tandem DMS engine utilises a common bitmap technology that encodes and compresses large data sets, working with the companys NonStop SQL MP database. The results are significantly improved data mining performance of over two orders of magnitude over traditional on-line analytical processing (OLAP) methods of businesses running on NonStop Himalaya servers.

The Tandem DTS engine will be integrated with client data mining tools available from four leading software vendors: Angress Software, Data Distillers, Magnify Inc., and Syllogic.

Developed by Tandems High Performance Research Centre, DMS pulls data from Tandems NonStop SQL/ MP database, numerically encodes, and ultimately creates as intermediate data structure.

 

DMS will be available as a bundled product from Angross Software

International Ltd. with Knowledge STUDIO, Data Distilleries with data Server, Magnify Inc. with PATTERN software, and Syllogic with Data Mining Tool.
