Traded Volume At Rs 416.60 Crore

The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed a traded volume of Rs 416.60 crore to which the treasury bills segment contributed a volume of Rs 55 crore.

The 364-day treasury bill maturing on April 24 witnessed 15 trades and a volume of Rs 250 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 12.94 per cent, at the low of Rs 97.77, and closed at the high of Rs 97.81. It was a flat market with not much price movement," said a broker. The 11 per cent gilts maturing in 2002 was traded for Rs 25 crore, at a yield of 11.85 per cent at the price of Rs 97.20. There were two repo deals concluded for the 11.83 per cent government loan maturing in 2003 for a term of eight days at the rate of 10.55 per cent and 10.65 per cent respectively. The 13.40 per cent gilt maturing on 1999 was in demand contributing to trades worth Rs 40 crore. It was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.87 per cent for a low of Rs 102.30 and closed at a high of Rs 102.55.

 

The corporate debenture segment accounted for a volume of Rs 38.05 lakh. The zero per cent Reliance bond maturing in 2001 and the 16 per cent MRPL bond maturing in 2002 were in demand contributing a volume of Rs 31.42 lakh and Rs 2.99 lakh respectively.
