Sutherland to invest Rs 120cr for BPO facility in Kerala

US-headquartered BPO firm Sutherland Global Services, which has offshore operations in Chennai and Mumbai, plans to invest over Rs 120 crore to create service delivery centre and training infrastructure on 20 acres of land in Kochi, Kerala.
 
The company expects to hire 3,000 professionals over the next three years in the first phase for its Kerala operations, a company statement said.
 
The BPO facility in Kochi is expected to become operational in the third quarter of 2006.
 
The talent pool and robust infrastructure in Kerala will provide advantage of cost, scalability and more importantly value across the spectrum of services the company offers to its clients, Dilip Vellodi, chairman and CEO, Sutherland Global Services said in the statement.
 
Sutherland's service portfolio includes process consulting, backoffice processing, technology support, customer care and account management services. Its global employee strength is over 12,000.
