| Tally Solutions, a Bangalore-based accounting software company, has set up 15 training centres in Uttaranchal and is making forays into other northern states. |
| Tally, which has developed the world's first concurrent multilingual business management software to facilitate entrepreneurs to maintain their accounts in the language of their choice, is holding talks with the Uttaranchal government for providing IT education to students through public private partnership (PPP), Vice-President Avinash Gupta said. |
| The company yesterday launched its Tally 8.1 in Dehra Dun. The software allows accounts maintained in one language to be viewed and printed in other languages also. |
| Gupta said the software is available in two forms "" Tally 8.1 silver and Tally 8.1 gold "" and can be used simultaneously in Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. |
| Stating that the company has 15 regional offices in India and three overseas offices in Singapore, London and Dubai, Gupta said the software would soon incorporate more Indian as well as foreign languages like Arabic. He claimed that the company holds 90 per cent share in the country's accounting business. |
| In a pioneering initiative in education business, Tally also launched its own global certification program. Driven by the growing need of its enormous user base across the corporate world, Tally aims to bring standardisation in its pursuit of excellence in education, Gupta, who is also the chief executive officer of Tally Solutions' education and training business arm, said. |
| Stating that at present, there were 18 lakh users of its software and the requirement for Tally certified professionals (TCP) was increasing rapidly, Gupta said any student can learn and take test online to get Tally certified. He said the company was also looking into placement of TCPs. |
| "In the next three months alone, 400 placement associates and executives will meet 3.5 lakh employers across the country to place TCPs. We are pumping in an investment of Rs 3 crore in this exercise," Gupta said, adding, this is by far the largest placement initiative being undertaken by any company. |
| Gupta said the company was exploring similar opportunities in other northern states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. |
