The mega auction for the IPL 2025 is underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 577 players are slated to go under the hammer during the two-day auction on November 24 and 25, with multiple players having the capability to prompt teams to break all-time records. Just within 10 minutes, Shreyas Iyer became second-most costliest player in the history of Indian Premier League after Lucknow Super Giants decided to pay Rs 27 crore for Rishabh Pant. While a bidding war between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, led to Shreyas Iyer's base price of Rs 2 crore to Rs 26.75 crore the former picked him for Rs 26.75 crore. For Rishabh Pant, the bidding war was between Lucknow and Sunrisers Hyderabad. All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer became fourth most expensive player in the history of IPL.
