Apollo Hospitals conduct 5G-based tech trial for colon cancer detection

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel and Apollo Hospitals have carried out India's first 5G driven, artificial intelligence guided trial to detect colon cancer, the telecom firm said on Thursday. The trial was conducted using AI on Airtel's 5G technology with ultra-low latency and high processing capabilities, as a result of which the colon cancer was detected much faster and with greater accuracy, it added. "At Airtel, we are geared up to lead this transformation and have demonstrated this by conducting India's first colonoscopy trials. Healthcare is one of the most promising use cases for 5G, and we are delighted to collaborate with Apollo Hospitals, AWS, HealthNet Global and Avesha," Airtel Business CEO and Director Ajay Chitkara said. HealthNet Global, AWS and Avesha were the other three companies that collaborated on this trial. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan launches Jio 5G in Kochi, Guruvayoor temple

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday inaugurated the 5G services provided by Jio in Kochi city and Guruvayur temple premises. Vijayan launched Jio True 5G and Jio True 5G Powered Wi-Fi services, digitally from Thiruvananthapuram, for an event organised here. Speaking at the event, Vijayan said the 5G services in the long run will bring transformational benefits for people of Kerala. Jio, in a release said, it has invested over Rs 6,000 crore for deploying the 5G network in Kerala and will be launching 5G services in Thiruvananthapuram by the end of this month followed by Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Malappuram by January 2023. "By December 2023 every tehsil and taluk of Kerala will have Jio's 5G services," the release said. It said 5G will also enable citizens and the government to remain connected on a real time basis and will also improve implementation and efficiency of government schemes for the last mile user. Bharti Airtel launches 5G Plus services at no extra cost in Lucknow

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced the launch of its cutting-edge 5G services here. Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the rollout. Customers with 5G-enabled devices will enjoy a high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the rollout is more widespread, according to a press statement. "Currently operational at Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Aliganj, Aishbagh, Rajajipuram, Aminabad, Jankipuram, Alambagh and Vikas Nagar and a few other select locations, Airtel will augment its network making its services available across the city in due course of time," said Sovan Mukherjee, CEO, Bharti Airtel, Uttar Pradesh.
