Amazon India on Monday announced the Smbhav Hackathon 2024, a nationwide competition aimed at developing next-generation technologies and AI-driven innovations specifically for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the e-commerce sector. The hackathon is a precursor to Amazon Smbhav 2024, the fifth edition of the company's flagship annual summit in India. Amazon partners with Startup India, DPIIT to enhance startups growth

Amazon India has partnered with Startup India, under the aegis of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to help startups scale growth through e-commerce. Through a dedicated page on the Startup India portal, the e-commerce firm and Startup India will work together to allow eligible startups to make use of e-commerce opportunities by registering on Amazon India's marketplace. The startups will gain access to the domestic market, mentorship from Amazon leaders, go-to-market support and logistics guidance, according to a company statement. Amazon India launches safety, wellness initiatives for delivery associates

New Delhi: Amazon India has launched ambulance services for delivery associates in partnership with Dial 4242 and rolled out a comprehensive six-month health campaign which is expected to benefit over 50,000 associates, the company said on Monday.

The company's health campaign is aimed to provide free health check-up to delivery associates including eye and dental check-up along with creating awareness among delivery associates for their ongoing comprehensive health and accidental coverage including maternity cover for female delivery associates, the company said.

"The service addresses the need for immediate medical response during emergencies, ensuring timely assistance during the first few critical hours following an on-road accident, and will be available across Dial 4242's PAN India network," the company said in a statement.

Amazon announces commission hike for content creators ahead of festive sale

E-commerce platform Amazon on Monday announced an increase in its standard commission income rates across 20 plus sub-categories for over 50,000 content creators engaged with it. The revised structure will offer content creators 1.5x-2x increased income across a wide range of product categories, including popular choices like fashion, beauty and personal care appliances, home, kitchen, toys, and books, Amazon said. "This empowers creators to earn more during the peak shopping season and capitalise on the increased consumer demand during the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF)," a company statement said. The Amazon Great Indian Festival is set to start on September 27, with 24-hour early access for Prime members. Amazon India launches AI chatbot Rufus ahead of its festive sale event

E-commerce major Amazon India has launched a new generative AI-powered conversational shopping assistant, Rufus, ahead of the start of its festive sale event. Rufus enables natural language interactions within the Amazon app, making it easy to ask product-related questions, get recommendations, or compare products, the company said. 'Amazon Biz customer base up at annual 111% rate in 6 yrs, 65% via phones'

Customer base of Amazon Business has expanded at a compounded annual growth rate of 111 per cent in the country in the last six years, a top company official said on Tuesday. Director of Amazon Business Mitranjan Bhaduri told reporters here that 65 per cent of overall orders on Amazon Business are now received through mobile phones. The customer base of the platform (Amazon Business) across India has increased at a CAGR of 111 per cent in the last six years, Bhaduri said. Amazon Business, the B2B online wholesale market started in 2017, is completing seven years in India, he said.. Bhaduri said that Amazon Business has witnessed significant growth outside metro areas, particularly in Bhopal, where it has seen a 2.4-times year-over-year (YoY) increase in new customers.
