Kejriwal well-wisher of terrorism, corruption, says UP CM Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday dubbed Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal as a 'namoona' or buffoon, and accused him and his party of supporting terrorism and corruption. Speaking at an election rally in Somnath town in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat for BJP candidates, he also accused main opposition Congress of not respecting other people's religions because of its "Muslim vote bank". "A 'Namoona' (buffoon) from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who is visiting Gujarat now a days is a true well-wisher of terrorism. He had also opposed the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. He had sought proof from our brave soldiers when the Indian Army carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan," said Adityanath, who is among the Bharatiya Janata Party's star campaigners. "When the Pakistan government itself was admitting that the strike had broken their back, AAP kept on asking for evidence. Support for terrorism and corruption is in their genes," the UP CM claimed. ...

MCD polls: Where was CM for last 8 years, asks Gambhir on landfill issue

With the AAP turning the issue of landfill sites into a poll plank ahead of the municipal election in Delhi, BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has hit out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asking where was he for the last eight years when it came to finding a solution for the massive garbage dump in Ghazipur. The Ghazipur landfill site is a giant garbage dump in east Delhi. Talking to PTI, Gambhir, who represents the East Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha, blamed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what he described as "a dismal state" of the national capital. He said the work done at the Ghazipur landfill site is an example of how a BJP-led MCD can "make a difference". The cricketer-turned-politician said in the last eight years, "we have only heard the Delhi chief minister blame the Centre for everything, but no one asked him what is his responsibility as the chief minister". He should come out and speak, Gambhir added. The people of Delhi can see it for themselves what the Ghazipur landfill

Kejriwal should apologise to nation, dismiss Jain: BJP on Tihar video

The BJP demanded on Tuesday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should apologise to the nation and dismiss his jailed minister Satyendar Jain over fresh allegations related to a massage video. The tirade came after sources claimed that the masseur, who was seen in video footage giving a massage to Jain, was not a physiotherapist, but an inmate who is lodged in the Tihar Jail in a rape case. The Aam Aadmi Party, which drew flak over the videos, had asserted earlier that Jain was receiving physiotherapy in the jail, where he is in judicial custody for the past five months over money laundering charges. At a press conference around afternoon, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia dared Kejriwal to respond to the fresh allegations "within an hour". He termed the AAP an "arajak aparadhi' party (anarchist criminal party), accusing it of defending the wrongdoing in the jail. "Arvind Kejriwal should apologise to the entire nation," Bhatia said. Will redeem myself by winning MCD polls: BJP candidate booked for vandalism

BJP's municipal poll candidate from Ramesh Nagar ward Pradeep Tiwari, who was arrested in March for alleged vandalism outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence, claimed he will redeem himself by winning the election. The ward has a large number of slum dwellers and they are happy that one of them has been fielded by the party for the polls, said the 27-year-old, who lives with his family in a slum in the Kirti Nagar area. He was one of the eight protesters who was arrested for alleged vandalism outside Kejriwal's official residence during a demonstration by the Bhartitya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM). "We had not done any vandalism outside Kejriwal's residence. It was a political protest but our image was tarnished by terming us as vandals. I am going to win the MCD poll from Ramesh Nagar ward and redeem myself," Tiwari told PTI. He said he was receiving a lot of support and affection from the people of Ramesh Nagar ward. MCD polls: AAP launches 'Kejriwal ki Sarkar, Kejriwal ka Paarshad' campaign

AAP leader Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia sharpened his attack on the BJP, accusing it of having "no vision" for the MCD as he announced a new campaign to "alert voters" in choosing the Aam Aadmi Party in the civic body polls. BJP leaders have no agenda in this polls other than to "abuse Arvind Kejriwal day and night", he alleged while launching the 'Kejriwal ki Sarkar, Kejriwal ka Paarshad' (Kejriwal's government, Kejriwal's councillor) campaign. Sisodia claimed the "AAP is set to win" the MCD polls and if BJP wins even one ward in Delhi "they will impede development work in their areas". The BJP has done nothing in the past 15 years in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and has no vision for the next five years as well, he alleged. "But, we have a vision to fix civic problems, make parks better and address landfill sites issues. The AAP is going to win this election. So, if you want work to be done in your ward, pick an AAP councillor. If a BJP councillor is elected i

MCD polls: Don't vote for those who stop welfare work, Kejriwal tells Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged people not to vote for those in the upcoming municipal polls who want to stop the development and welfare work in the national capital. Addressing a public meeting in Paharganj here, he said though his government improved schools and hospitals, it could not do much on the sanitation front as the responsibility lies with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The chief minister alleged that the BJP, which has ruled the civic body for 15 years and is seeking a fourth term, is planning to create another garbage mountain in Delhi. Kejriwal was accompanied by his deputy Manish Sisodia. "Do not vote for those who want to stop the development and welfare work in Delhi," Kejriwal said in an apparent reference to the BJP. "During our tenure, we improved schools and hospitals, provided free electricity and water besides installing CCTVs and building mohalla clinics. But we feel sad that we could not do anything to improve sanitation as

BJP made other parties talk about development during polls: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the BJP has compelled all other parties in the country to talk about development as the main issue during elections. Addressing a poll rally in Botad town in Saurashtra region of poll-bound Gujarat, the prime minister appealed to voters to reject those who always defame the state. "Earlier, allegations about scams used to be the main issue during elections. But, after BJP's rise in Gujarat, the main issue has become development instead of scams. We compelled all other political parties in the country to talk about development during polls," he said. On the occasion, the prime minister promised youths that the entire belt covering Botad, Dholera and Bhavnagar will soon become Gujarat's "most happening industrial belt where even aeroplanes will be manufactured". He said the upcoming Assembly elections, scheduled to be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, will decide Gujarat's path for the next 25 years and not for just five years.
