Kejriwal should apologise to nation, dismiss Jain: BJP on Tihar video

The BJP demanded on Tuesday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should apologise to the nation and dismiss his jailed minister Satyendar Jain over fresh allegations related to a massage video. The tirade came after sources claimed that the masseur, who was seen in video footage giving a massage to Jain, was not a physiotherapist, but an inmate who is lodged in the Tihar Jail in a rape case. The Aam Aadmi Party, which drew flak over the videos, had asserted earlier that Jain was receiving physiotherapy in the jail, where he is in judicial custody for the past five months over money laundering charges. At a press conference around afternoon, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia dared Kejriwal to respond to the fresh allegations "within an hour". He termed the AAP an "arajak aparadhi' party (anarchist criminal party), accusing it of defending the wrongdoing in the jail. "Arvind Kejriwal should apologise to the entire nation," Bhatia said. The BJP has done nothing in the past 15 years in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and has no vision for the next five years as well, he alleged. "But, we have a vision to fix civic problems, make parks better and address landfill sites issues. The AAP is going to win this election. So, if you want work to be done in your ward, pick an AAP councillor. If a BJP councillor is elected i

MCD polls: Delhi BJP releases 'charge sheet' against Kejriwal govt

In the run up to MCD polls, Delhi BJP on Thursday brought out a "charge sheet" against the AAP government accusing it of failing to fulfill its promises. Reading out the "charge sheet" at a press conference, the senior BJP leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri claimed the issues raised in it were verified, and challenged AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal to have a debate on it with him. "In 8 years of its rule, Kejriwal government turned Delhi into the most polluted national capital in the world, and also a capital of addiction by allowing liquor shops in every street of the city," Bidhuri charged. Despite Rs 2,500 crore provided by the Centre for cleaning the Yamuna, the river is still a drain of dirty water under Aam Aadmi Party government, he said. "Kejriwal does not believe in the Constitution," Bidhuri attacked the Delhi chief minister, alleging he did not conduct any audit of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) which was running into losses, and avoided placing CAG audit of departments in the Assembly.

"Kejriwal had visited South Korea's Seoul in December 2018 to learn how a polluted river was cleaned there. What did he learn there that despite 50 months, Yamuna's all important parameters, including biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen and fecal coliform, are much above the permissible limit?" he asked. The Yamuna has permissible limit of fecal coliform bacteria when it enters the city which rises to over 6.5 lakh/100 ml as the river leaves the city, he said. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday filed a case in connection with the embezzlement of DJB funds worth Rs 20 crore.
