MP polls: BJP, Cong hold training sessions for nominees ahead of counting

With only six days left before votes cast in recently-held Madhya Pradesh assembly elections will be counted on December 3, the main contenders BJP and Congress on Sunday organised separate training sessions for their candidates and counting agents. The opposition Congress organised a training session in Bhopal while the BJP connected its candidates virtually. The opposition BJP will open control rooms at the state district level for its workers and leaders to receive complains about police harassment, Karnataka BJP chief B Y Vijayendra said on Sunday. Seeking to further connect with the Dalit community ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress has decided to extend its ongoing Dalit outreach programme in Uttar Pradesh till December end. The 'Dalit Gaurav Samvad' which started on October 9 --- the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshiram --- was earlier scheduled to end on Sunday to coincide with Constitution Day. The Congress on Sunday requested the Chief Election Commissioner to impose restrictions on BRS, not to mention the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu amount in their poll campaign. The EC on November 24 gave a green signal to the state government to disburse the amount under Rythu Bandhu scheme, an investment support to farmers, before November 28.
