The Congress on Monday charged that the gap between the ultra-rich and the middle class in the country is widening under the Modi government. Chhattisgarh Assembly elections: BJP complains to state poll authority

The opposition BJP in Chhattisgarh has filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Raipur seeking action against 83 Congress candidates, claiming they have not furnished their criminal record details to the Election Commission within 48 hours of their selection. The Congress, however, claimed the BJP was levelling false allegations against the ruling party candidates. A Congress spokesperson said they have not given tickets to people with "criminal tendencies" and that they will fulfil the criteria laid down by the Election Commission. The Congress has so far declared candidates for 83 out of the total 90 seats in the state which will go to polls in two phases on November 7 and 17. Cong releases list of 33 candidates in Rajasthan; Gehlot, Pilot included

The Congress on Saturday released its first list of 33 candidates for the Rajasthan assembly elections, fielding Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot from Sardarpura and his former deputy Sachin Pilot from Tonk. Speaker C P Joshi will contest from his Nathdwara assembly seat, while the party's state unit president, Govind Singh Dotasra, has been fielded from Lachhmangarh. Minister Harish Chaudhary will contest from Baytoo and Mamata Bhupesh from the Sikrai-SC seat. Kharge congratulates Isro for successfully conducting test vehicle mission
