Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora will hold his first 'Jan-Sunwai' (public hearing) in his office at the city police headquarters from August 24 onwards, officials said on Monday. This will be the first 'Jan Sunwai' session by a Delhi Police chief in two years. In the past, 'Jan Sunwai' was conducted to meet complainants to address their grievances but the practice was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Arora, who took charge as Delhi Police commissioner on August 1, will restart 'Jan Sunwai'. According to an official circular, 'Jan Sunwai' will commence from August 24. It will be held from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 12 noon. "Vigilance Division of Delhi shall be the nodal agency for 'Jan Sunwai' and Special Commissioner of Police (Vigilance) shall create a 'Jan Sunwai Desk' at the PHQ to facilitate the public and it shall be the first point of contact for all visitors who wish to attend 'Jan Sunwai'," the circular said. The Central Bureau of Investigation has not issued a Look Out Circular "as of now" against any accused including Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the excise policy scam case, officials said Sunday. They said the process of scrutinising documents is going on and notices are being issued to suspects for questioning, they said. This comes after Sisodia claimed a lookout notice against him in the excise policy case being probed by the CBI and termed the move a "drama" as the agency found "nothing" during a raid at his residence on Friday. "As of now" no Look Out Circulars (LOC) have been issued against any of the accused in the case, the officials said. Office rentals in Delhi-NCR rose by an average of 8 per cent in the first six months of this year, according to property consultant Savills India. In its latest report 'India Market Watch Office H1 2022', Savills mentioned that the Delhi-NCR witnessed gross absorption of 5.6 million square feet in H1 (January-June) 2022, up by 194 per cent from H1 2021. "Unlike H1 2021, which saw almost equal share in the leasing activity from Gurugram and NOIDA, the first half of 2022 witnessed varied leasing activities from these two regions," the report said. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has revamped the Graded Response Action Plan -- a set of anti-air pollution measures followed in Delhi and its vicinity according to the severity of the situation.
