Guj: Inquiry ordered into video showing 2 teachers kissing

An inquiry has been initiated into a video showing a couple, reportedly teachers at a primary school in Dahod district, cuddling and kissing, a senior education department official said Sunday. The video, shot on a mobile phone inside a classroom located in Bhaman village in Sanjeli taluka, was posted on social media platforms. The identities of the two teachers in the video are not clear and an inquiry has been ordered, Dahod District Primary Education Officer N G Vyas said. He said some villagers had complained of "nuisance" in this connection and had submitted this video. "The inquiry will be conducted by the Taluka Primary Education Officer and a report will be submitted in a week or so after which we will take appropriate action," he said.

No flouting law on fee structure, ensure transparency: Gautam Buddh Nagar admin to pvt schools

The Guatam Buddh Nagar administration has asked all private schools in the district to adhere to the Uttar Pradesh Self Financed Independent Schools (Regulation of Fees) Act, brought in this year to check arbitrary fee hikes by institutes, according to officials. The schools have been asked to prepare their fee structures in accordance with the Act and publish it on their websites as well as share details with the district regulatory committee, headed by the district magistrate, within seven days, the officials said. The schools have also been directed to not change uniforms before five years and not select only particular shops for parents to buy books and dresses for their wards, as mandated by the Act, they said. UP: Class 10 student thrashed by teacher and classmate, dies

A Class 10 student of J.P. Sharma Inter College in Babaeru area of Banda district, who was allegedly thrashed by a teacher and classmate at his coaching institute, passed away on Saturday.The 15-year-old boy, identified as Ayush alias Suraj, was allegedly thrashed by two individuals- Rishikant, a teacher, and Divakar, a student- on October 9, and immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.The boy, who was later referred to a hospital in Kanpur for treatment, succumbed to his injuries.As per the deceased's father, Satish Gupta, Rishikant asked his son to pay a sum of Rs 10,000 in exchange for making him pass in an exam. Teacher slits student's throat for rejecting marriage proposal

A school teacher allegedly slit the throat of a Grade-ninth student with a blade in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district on Saturday.The teacher, Shankar, who teaches Hindi at Rockwell High School allegedly entered into the girl's residence forcefully and attacked her with a blade, after she reportedly turned down a marriage proposal.The locals, on hearing the girl scream, rushed to the scene and shifted her to a local hospital. They thrashed the teacher black and blue and handed him over to the police. The accused also received injuries and was sent to the hospital by the police for treatment.A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code has been registered and further probe is on. Sexual harassment case against teacher

Police on Saturday registered a case against the teacher of a reputed English medium school on charges of sexually harassing some girl students, police said. The Mathematics teacher of the school in the state capital has been accused of sexually harassing girl students of Class VI and VII for the last few months. The police have registered a case against the teacher, said Chandrasekhar police Inspector-In-Charge Deepak Kumar Mishra. Mishra said that the accused teacher has been absconding. The police registered the case based on a complaint lodged by the school authorities after it was revealed that the allegation against the teacher was true. Four students of IGMC Shimla suspended for ragging

Four MBBS students of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital here were rusticated Saturday and an FIR was lodged for allegedly ragging a first-year student hours before the freshers' party, officials said. The four second-year students were suspended on the basis of the report of preliminary inquiry conducted by the anti-ragging committee of the college, IGMC principal Dr Ravi Sharma said. The Allahabad High Court Friday stayed till November 12 admissions in Ayurveda and Unani colleges through NEET on the basis of lowered percentage marks. The Centre, in consultation with the Uttar Pradesh government, had taken a decision to reduce the percentage for granting admission through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
