Sharon Maguire of "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Bridget Jones' Baby" fame is in talks to direct the Sony Pictures film, reported Deadline. The film revolves around a young woman trying to navigate her dating life in Los Angeles. The plot is a hat-tip to the hit '90s rom-com "You've Got Mail" with a modern take in the 21st century. Leah McKendrick has penned the speculative script. Escape Artists Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Becky Sanderman are attached as producers.
Actors Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp are returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through "Falcon & Winter Soldier" series, which is set to premiere on Disney+ streaming service. VanCamp made her MCU debut in 2014's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as spy Sharon Carter, the grandniece of Captain America's (Chris Evans) former love interest, agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). The actor went on to star in "Avengers: Civil War" (2016). German star Bruhl appeared as the scheming villain Zemo in "Civil War". According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Handmaid's Tale" director Kari Skogland is coming onboard to helm the project. The upcoming series will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their roles as Falcon and Winter Soldier, respectively. The duo were most recently seen in "Avengers: Endgame", which saw Captain America pass the mantle on to Falcon. Disney+ is set to launch on November 12.

Nisha Ganatra is directing the movie from a screenplay by Flora Greeson. Focus Features and Working Title Films are producing the project. Hollywood star Johnny Depp has been sued by his ex-lawyers over unpaid bills. According to the court documents, Buckley LLP is suing the actor for USD 347,979.89 relating to unpaid legal bills. The firm alleges that they were hired by Depp to represent him in the USD 30 million legal battle with his former lawyers Bloom Hergott LLP, reported Variety. As per the suit, Depp's representatives informed Buckley LLP in January that he was dropping the firm because he was looking to "contract the number of law firms providing services to him and his entities". Edward White, Depp's representative in the matter, told the firm that the actor intended to pay the outstanding fees in the first quarter of 2019. "Plaintiff received further assurances regarding payment from Depp's agents, most recently with promises to pay the amount owed in full by mid-May," the suit stated. Up-and-coming actor Jason Mitchell has been dropped from a number projects over allegations of inappropriate behaviour. According to Deadline, Mitchell has been expelled by his agency, UTA, management company Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Netflix movie "Desperados" and season three of Showtime drama "The Chi". Netflix decided to dismiss the actor from "Desperados" after the makers were informed about an off-set incident. The incident was immediately investigated leading to Mitchell's termination from the project, in which he was to star opposite Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp and Robbie Amell. Looking at the seriousness of the allegations, Fox 21 TV Studios, opted not to sign Mitchell for the third season of "The Chi". Mitchell has been in high-demand since his breakout role in the 2015 film "Straight Outta Compton", in which he played NWA member Eazy-E.
