Bruce Willis to feature in next Comedy Central Roast

Action star Bruce Willis is all set to receive the roast treatment on the Comedy Central. "The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis" will take place in Los Angeles this summer while the premiere date will be announced later, a press release of Comedy Central said. "This ain't the first time I'll be tied to a chair and held hostage by a group of humorless a**h*les for a couple hours," said Willis. Willis joins Rob Lowe, Justin Bieber, James Franco, Charlie Sheen and Donald Trump, among others, who had also received the Comedy Central roast treatment. It will be executive produced by Joel Gallen while Christian McLaughlin is the Executive in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. "Bruce has survived terrorists, Armageddon, romance and death itself. Yet nothing has prepared him for this roast," said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman.

Google celebrates birth anniversary of KL Saigal with a doodle

Tech giant Google is celebrating the 114th birth anniversary of legendary singer-actor KL Saigal with a doodle. Considered the first superstar of Indian cinema, Kundan Lal Saigal is known to have recorded 185 songs as well acting in 36 films in his career that spanned 15 years. His musical journey began in 1930 when he joined New Theatres Calcutta and started working with the studio for a salary of Rs 200 per month. He gave his voice to the melodies such as "Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya", "Bangla Bane Nyara", "Hum Apna Unhe Bana Na Sake", "Do Naina Matwale Tihare", "Main Kya Janoon Kya Jadu", "Babul Mora" and "Katibe Taqdeer" and others. His first film was the 1932 Urdu film "Mohabbat Ke Ansu" and he followed it up with two more movies the same year, "Zinda Lash" and "Subah Ka Sitara". He tasted success with "Yahudi ki Ladki", a costume epic-based on Aga Hashr Kashmiri's famous play Misar Kumari. Chouhan raises limit of cashless treatment for scribes in MP

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to double the limit of cashless treatment for journalists under the state's health and insurance scheme to Rs four lakh. The state government had launched the Health and Accident Group Insurance Scheme for journalists a few years back. Currently, the limit of cashless treatment for journalists is Rs two lakh. The chief minister, while speaking at the felicitation of journalists at his official residence here last night, also announced to double the financial assistance given to photojournalists in case of camera damage during news coverage to Rs 50,000. Besides, he announced to waive five per cent of the total interest on housing loan up to Rs 25 lakh for scribes. Kabir talks about religion and humanity

Popular actor-producer Dev's upcoming Bengali film 'Kabir', based on the life of a terrorist, talks about the religion of humanity, the actor has said. 'Kabir', which will be released on April 13 ahead of the Bengali New year, does not show disrespect to any human being and his religion, Dev told PTI yesterday. "Humanity is bigger than any religion, love is the biggest religion. 'Kabir' speaks about that religion of humanity which is important in the present time," the actor said. Asked if the film glorified terrorism, Dev said, "On the contrary, we have sought to communicate in the film, how to destroy terrorism." More than the terrorists, their conspirators, who have used them and built up terror networks, are the bigger threats, the bigger terrorists, he said. Asked if his lead role as 'Kabir' had negative shades, Dev said, "You may say so." "There had not been much experimentation with negative roles in the Bengali film industry and hence we get typecast with roles.
