Mel Gibson will be seen playing Santa Claus in the independent action comedy, "Fatman". According to Variety, the film will be helmed by director duo Ian and Eshom Nelms from their own script. The movie follows a rowdy, unorthodox Santa Claus who is fighting his business decline, while a neglected and precocious 12-year-old hires a hitman to kill Santa after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking. "This rowdy Santa tale is a film we've been excited to make for some time and we're thrilled to have equally passionate partners in Rough House and Fortitude who carry the same fire," said Ian and Eshom. Production banner Skywolf is also backing the project. "Fatman" will be introduced to international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, which opens May 14. The film is expected to go on floors early next year in Canada.
TV actor Karan Oberoi has been sent to 14-days judicial custody by an Andheri Court in connection with an alleged rape case against him.Oberoi was arrested on May 6.An FIR was registered at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code against Oberoi.According to the police, the actor allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marrying her."Oberoi not only raped the woman and filmed the act but also demanded money from the victim threatening to release the video if she did not pay up," they said quoting the FIR.

"Game of Thrones" actor Joe Dempsie has revealed that initially he auditioned to play Jon Snow in the HBO series. Kit Harington eventually bagged the role. "I auditioned for the pilot. I had no idea what Game of Thrones was. Didn't get it. Kind of forgot about it. Nobody knew it was going to become the biggest TV show on the planet at that point. It was just another audition," Dempsie recalled. The actor, who plays Gendry in the epic fantasy series, said he later studied up on the show to audition twice to play two different Night's Watch characters.
