John Legend to co-produce 'Le Brio' remake
EGOT winner John legend is all set to co-produce the remake of 2017 French film 'Le Brio'.Legend's production company Get Lifted Film Company will join forces with French producer Dmitri Rassam of 'The Little Prince' fame and produce the upcoming remake of the aforementioned film.The original French film is about an unusual relationship between a young French-Arab woman (Camelia Jordana), a resident of a poor neighbourhood, and a professor (Daniel Auteuil) who is eventually forced to coach the former for an annual speech contest, reported Variety.Letitia Wright of 'Black Panther' fame will star as the female lead in the film and will also don the hat of an executive producer.Wright's character will explore the complex relationship that is shown in the original film. 171 feature films of 70 countries to be screened in KIFF
The 24th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) beginning November 10 will showcase 171 feature films and 150 shorts and docus from 70 countries, organisers said Saturday. 'Antony Firingee', the 1967 Bengali classic, will be the inaugural movie of the eight-day extravaganza that has Australia as the 'focus country'. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the festival and celebrated Iranian director Majid Majidi and Australian film makers Philip Noyce, Jill Bilcock and Simon Baker will be the guests of honour. Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jaya Bachchan, Wahida Rehman, Nandita Das and others would form the Bollywood star brigade at the inaugural programme at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, state minister and KIFF Chief Advisor Arup Biswas told a press meet here. Court directs police to lodge FIR against Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon, 2 others
A court here on Saturday directed the police to lodge an FIR against Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon and two others for allegedly causing disruption of road traffic during her visit to the town last month. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Dipak Kumar directed Kaji Mohammadpur police station in Muzaffarpur town to lodge the FIR against the actor and two others following a complaint filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha accusing them of causing disruption of road traffic during her visit to this Bihar town on October 12, 2018. Ojha had sought that Tandon as well as Pranav Kumar and Umesh Singh, father-son duo who own a hotel which was inaugurated by the actor on October 12, be made parties. In his complaint, Ojha alleged that because of Tandon's function he was held up in a traffic jam for a long time. He had requested the court to take note of his complaint under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code and direct the police to lodge an FIR against the three.

Will Ferrell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus to star in 'Force Majeure' remake
Actors Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are all set to play the leads in Fox Searchlight's "Downhill". The film is an official remake of Swedish director Ruben Ostlund's critically acclaimed feature "Force Majeure". The 2014 film featured Johannes Kuhnke, Lisa Loven Kongsli, and Kristofer Hivju in the lead. Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, best known for co-writing "The Descendants", will direct the remake for the studio, reported Deadline. Jesse Armstrong, who wrote the film "Four Lions" and created the HBO series "Succession", has penned the screenplay. The film's story follows a husband and wife who take their family for a vacation at a ski lodge, only for things to go south quickly. Louis-Dreyfus will also produce the film. Stefanie Azpiazu, Ostlund and Erik Hemmendorff will serve as the executive producers.
