Realty firm Godrej Properties Ltd on Wednesday said it has bought 12.5-acre land in Hyderabad to develop a housing project having Rs 3,500 crore revenue potential. This marks the company's foray into the Hyderabad property market. In a regulatory filing, Godrej Properties informed that it has acquired 12.5-acre of land at Rajendra Nagar in Hyderabad. "The development on this land is estimated to have a potential of around 4 million square feet of saleable area comprising primarily premium residential apartments of various configurations with an estimated revenue potential of about Rs 3,500 crore," the company said. Godrej Properties said that Hyderabad would be an important market for the company. Realty firm Aparna Constructions and Estates on Tuesday said it will invest Rs 2,425 crore to develop two housing projects in Hyderabad. The two projects will have more than 2,500 apartments, offering individual unit sizes ranging from approximately 1,475 sq. ft. to 3,700 sq. ft. In a statement, the company said it has launched "two gated community apartment projects in Hyderabad, Aparna Newlands and Aparna Sarovar Towers, with a combined investment of Rs 2,425 crore." The project -- Aparna Newlands -- will be spread over 14 acres totalling 1,976 units, while the 5-acre Aparna Sarovar Towers project will have 585 units. Aparna Constructions, a division of the Aparna Group, is one of the largest real estate developers in South India. The company was founded by S S Reddy and C V Reddy in 1996. A blame game has started between Telangana government and Formula E after the cancellation of the electric race in Hyderabad. The second edition of Hyderabad E Prix was scheduled to be held on February 10 but Formula E cancelled the race alleging a breach contract by the new Telangana government. A four-year agreement was signed between Formula E, the BRS-governed Telangana government and Greenko, which pulled out of the event after the inaugural edition. Real estate consultant CBRE on Thursday said that the leasing of office space in Chennai grew 61 per cent to 10 million square feet in 2023 as against 6.2 million square feet in the previous year. Overall, the office market across nine major cities witnessed a gross absorption of 61.6 million square feet during 2023, registering a growth of 7 per cent from 57.8 million square feet in the previous year. This marked a 4-year high leasing activity after it touched the peak in 2019 with 65 million square feet. In the 2023 On-Time Performance (OTP) Review prepared by aviation analytics firm Cirium, there are a total of three Indian airports -- Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata -- and one Indian carrier -- IndiGo. Gross office space leasing rose 12 per cent to a record 62.3 million square feet this year, while fresh supply remained flat across six major cities, according to Savills India. The absorption of office space stood at 55.4 million square feet in the previous year. New supply of office space stood at 53.3 million square feet, as against 53.4 million square feet in the previous year. "Office gross absorption across India's six major cities is recorded at a new all-time high of 62.3 million square feet in 2023, registering a 12 per cent growth over last year," Savills said in a statement. Bengaluru saw a decline of 10 per cent to 15.6 million square feet this year, from 17.3 million square feet in the previous year. "Mumbai saw record leasing activity at 10.1 million square feet owing to large transactions by tech and consulting occupiers. A delegation of Taiwan-based contract manufacturer Foxconn on Tuesday met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who assured them the required support for the operations of its manufacturing centre at Kongara Kalan near here. Office space demand surged 92 per cent during October-December period across six major cities on better demand of workspace from corporates and coworking operators, according to Colliers India. Real estate consultant Colliers India report shows that gross leasing of office space stood at 20.2 million square feet in the fourth quarter of this calendar year from 10.5 million square feet in the year-ago period. Helped by strong demand during the December quarter, the total leasing of office space rose 16 per cent to 58.2 million square feet during the 2023 calendar year from 50.3 million square feet last year.
