Centre pledges Rs 488 crore for enhanced power grid resilience in Telangana

The Centre on Friday assured support to Telangana to enhance the "resilience of the power grid" and ensure reliable electricity supply across the state. As per an official statement Friday, Union Minister for Power Shi Manohar Lal has assured support for nine new schemes under the Power System Development Fund with a total investment of Rs 488 crore. During a review meeting held with the Chief Minister of Telangana and state officials, the Minister emphasized the importance of the state government liquidating its legacy government department dues to be paid to DISCOMs as per the committed trajectory and for ensuring timely payment of current dues, Ministry of Power said in a statement. CapitaLand announces Rs 450 cr investment in new IT park in Hyderabad

CapitaLand Group, a real estate investment and development company headquartered in Singapore, has announced a Rs 450 crore investment to develop a state-of-the-art 1 million square foot IT park in Hyderabad. The announcement was made following a high-level meeting in Singapore, attended by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, state officials and senior CapitaLand executives, including CapitaLand India Trust Management Pte. Ltd CEO & ED Gauri Shankar Nagabhushanam, according to an official release on Sunday. Court relaxes Allu Arjun's bail conditions, allows him to travel abroad

In a major relief to actor Allu Arjun, a court here has relaxed the conditions of his bail in the 'Pushpa 2' stampede case, exempting him from appearing before the investigating officer every Sunday. The court also permitted him to travel abroad to specified countries, with the condition that he must undertake to appear before the SHO of the Chikkadpally police station as and when required. He has been directed to inform the SHO of his travel schedule for each trip and provide details of his place of stay in the destination country until the charge sheet is filed. The remaining bail conditions remain unchanged, the court noted in its order dated January 10. The court's decision followed a petition filed by the actor seeking relaxation of the bail conditions. Previously, while granting regular bail to Allu Arjun on January 3, the court had instructed him to appear before the investigating officer every Sunday between 10 am and 1 pm for two months or until the filing of the charge .

Eli Lilly to set up global capability centre in Hyderabad, hire 1K people

Pharma major Eli Lilly and Company on Thursday said it plans to establish a new global capability centre in Hyderabad and hire over 1,000 people to strengthen its digital strategy and service delivery. The Hyderabad global capability centre (GCC) will be known as Lilly Capability Centre India (LCCI) Hyderabad and will initially focus on expanding Lilly's capabilities in automation, artificial intelligence, software product engineering and cloud computing to deliver advanced technology solutions that meet the evolving needs of Lilly's business worldwide, the Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly) said in a statement. Lilly will be recruiting more than 1,000 highly-skilled team members to strengthen the company's digital strategy and service delivery, it added. Brigade Group to invest about Rs 4,500 crore in Hyderabad project

Realty firm Brigade Enterprises Ltd will invest around Rs 4,500 crore to develop an integrated 10-acre housing and commercial project in Hyderabad to expand the business to encash strong demand for luxury homes and premium office-retail spaces. Bengaluru-based Brigade Enterprises launched its new mixed-use project 'Brigade Gateway' on Wednesday at Neopolis Kokapet, Hyderabad. "We will develop a 45 lakh square feet mixed-use project in Hyderabad, of which around 25 lakh square feet will be luxury homes," the company's Executive Director Amar Mysore told PTI. Asked about project cost, he said the total investment in land and construction will be around Rs 4,500 crore. ED summons BRS leader KT Rama Rao in money laundering case on Jan 7

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader KT Rama Rao and some others for questioning next month in a money laundering case linked to alleged payment irregularities during a Formula-E race held in Hyderabad in February 2023, official sources said on Saturday. The federal agency filed an enforcement case information report (ECIR) or FIR last week in the case under various sections of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), taking cognisance of a Telangana Police Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) complaint. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and son of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Rama Rao has been asked to depose for recording of his statement on January 7, the sources said. A group of people claiming to be members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee on Sunday vandalised flower pots and other items at the residence of top Telugu actor Allu Arjun here, demanding justice to the woman who died in 'Pushpa-2' screening stampede. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy condemned attack and directed the state Director General of Police and the city police commissioner to be tough in maintaining law and order. Police in a release said that one of the protesters who arrived at Allu Arjun's house, mounted the compound wall and started throwing tomatoes. After spending the night in a local prison after being arrested in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film, , actor Allu Arjun walked out of jail on Saturday following an interim bail granted by the Telangana High Court. Arjun had to spend Friday night in prison despite the HC relief, as the authorities had not received a copy of the bail order until late last night.
