Steve Smith speaks up about Kohli's support

Australian batsman Steve Smith has termed as 'lovely gesture' the support he received from Virat Kohli during their recent World Cup clash, while revealing that the crowd's booing did not bother the former Australia captain."Yeah, it was a lovely gesture. It doesn't really bother me what the crowd do to be perfectly honest, I'm just sort of blocking it all out but it was a lovely gesture from Virat, that's for sure," ESPN Cricinfo quoted Smith as saying.Smith just made a return to his national team after serving a year-long ban, which was handed out to him for his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal last year. Therefore, during the match between India and Australia in the premier tournament on June 9, Steve Smith faced 'cheater, cheater' chants from the Indians fans. However, Kohli signalled the croewd to applaud Smith and not jeer at him.India won by 36 runs and after the match, Kohli admitted that he apologized to Smith on behalf of the fans.Australia's win against West Indies

Indian team to take two-day break after Pakistan win

A jubilant Indian team, led by skipper Virat Kohli, will take a couple of days off to relax and rejuvenate after their dominating win over Pakistan in the World Cup here. Two-time former champions India dished out yet another professional performance on Sunday to outwit arch-rivals and 1992 winners Pakistan by 89 runs to stay on course for a semifinal spot. "Indian team will now have a two-day break," the Indian team management said. India will next take on Afghanistan on June 22 at Southampton. India have a couple of injury concerns with pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar sidelined with a hamstring injury for at least next two World Cup games. Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who had suffered a hairline fracture on his thumb during a match-winning 117 against Australia on June 9, has also been ruled out of three matches.
