The Indian Navy has joined hands with a cab aggregator service with an aim to provide reliable, convenient, safe and economical mobility solutions for personal travel and commute of naval personnel and families across the country, officials said on Monday. Top naval commanders to review maritime security scenario at Delhi conclave

Top commanders of the Indian Navy will carry out a comprehensive review of India's maritime security challenges and ways to enhance tri-services synergy at a three-day conclave beginning Monday amid China's burgeoning military posturing in the Indian Ocean region. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande and Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari are scheduled to interact with the naval commanders at the conference to be held in Delhi, officials said. The conference and the "embedded interactions" with the NSA, chiefs of the Army and the Indian Air Force would also be utilised to analyse the operational environment, deliberate on the issue of tri-services synergy and assess the readiness of the maritime forces, the Navy said. Titagarh Rail Systems launches diving support craft for Indian Navy

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) on Thursday launched the first diving support craft (DSC) for the Indian Navy at its shipyard in Titagarh, West Bengal. TRSL is building five such vessels for the Indian Nav, the company said in a release. According to officials, the total contract value of all five DSCs was about Rs 175 crore. The launch ceremony was graced by Aradhna Mahindru, wife of Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahindru, AVSM, NM, deputy chief of the Naval Staff (DCNS). SAIL supplies 4K tonnes of steel plates for 7th frigate ship of Indian Navy

State-owned SAIL on Thursday said it has supplied 4,000 tonnes of steel plates for the construction of the seventh frigate ship as part of the P17A project of the Indian Navy. The P17A Project comprises the construction of seven ships, of which six have been launched between September 2019 and August 2023. The seventh frigate ship is scheduled to be launched on Friday by Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) said in a statement. "SAIL has again contributed significantly to India's defence capabilities by providing the entire quantity of special steel plates of about 4,000 tonnes for the construction of the seventh frigate ship under the indigenous P17A Project for the Indian Navy," it said. US, Indian navies complete week-long anti-submarine warfare training

The navies of India and the United States completed a week-long joint exercise focused on improving the interoperability in maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare, an official said on Wednesday. The 'Tridents' of the patrol squadron VP-26 based out of Florida, the United States, along with the 'Albatross' of the Indian Naval Air Squadron 312 took part in combined anti-submarine warfare. A VP-26 P-8A Poseidon aircraft of the 'Tridents' and a P-8I Poseidon aircraft of the Indian Naval Air Squadron participated in the week-long programme. "The subject matter expert exchange focused on improving interoperability between the two navies' maritime patrol and reconnaissance forces. Stealth frigate 'Vindhyagiri' being readied for Aug 17 launch by President

The third advanced stealth frigate built by Defence PSU GRSE for the Indian Navy is being readied on war footing for its launch by President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday, officials said. To be christened 'Vindhyagiri' after a mountain range in Karnataka, this is the sixth of seven ships under Project 17A. Final touches were being given to the ship before its launch by the President on August 17, as scores of workers busied themselves with various engineering and paint jobs at the GRSE's main unit on the banks of River Hooghly. Huge cranes were at work delivering material to the deck of the ship, while some items were being unloaded from it, with senior engineers supervising the final construction activities in the warship in-making, they said.
