Minor arrested for killing 17-yr-old in Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy

A juvenile has been arrested for murdering a 17-year-old boy in outer-north Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area, police said on Friday.According to the police, the boy was killed in Shardhanand Colony area by the accused and one more person on Thursday. A case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the India Penal Code was registered in the case.A five-member police team led by inspector Vishesh Kumar was formed to investigate the case. After checking CCTV cameras and with the help of informers, the team managed to apprehend the juvenile (also 17 years old).One country made pistol and one empty cartridge were recovered from his possession, the police said.During the interrogation, the accused admitted to having committed the crime with the help of one more person. US infant boy cut out of mother's womb dies at hospital

A baby cut out of his murdered teenage mother's womb died Friday at a Chicago hospital of severe brain injury nearly two months after the attack, the family said. Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, was killed on April 23 by a Chicago woman and her daughter, who lured the expectant mother via a Facebook group to their home with the promise of free baby supplies. Police say Clarisa Figueroa, 46, and her daughter Desiree, 24, strangled the teen, who was nine months pregnant, and cut the baby out of her. The elder Figueroa allegedly claimed the baby as her own after calling for medical help because the child was not breathing. The baby had been hospitalized on life support and was considered brain dead, according to the family. 33-year-old arrested for trying to kill man in Jama Masjid area

A 33-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to kill a person in Jama Masjid area last year, police said Friday. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Saifi, a resident of Meerut. He was carrying cash a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, they said. According to a senior police officer, they received an information that Iqbal Saifi would come near Welcome area here to meet one of his friends in order to plan some heinous crime. Two shot dead in northeast Delhi; 1 apprehended, 2 absconding

Two men were shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons on Friday in northeast Delhi, police said. The deceased have been identified as Khurvesh (40) and Kanchi (28), both residents of Nand Nagri, they said. "Police have apprehended one suspect, Ashu (25), and identified two accused persons who are absconding. Raids are being conducted to nab them," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Atul Kumar Thakur said. Police also seized a vehicle from his possession, the DCP said, adding that Ashu works as a dealer of second hand cars in the national capital. Case lodged against unknown persons for posting 'derogatory' video of Union min

The cyber crime wing of the city police Friday registered a criminal case against some unknown persons for posting on social media a "derogatory" video of Labour Minister Malla Reddy, officials said. An official working with the minister told police that a "derogatory and objectionable" video was posted on various social media platforms, police said. A case has been registered under various sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), they said. Minor among 2 shot dead in separate incidents in outer Delhi

Two persons, including a 17-year-old boy, were shot dead in two separate incidents in Outer-North Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area, police said Friday. In the first incident, minor boy Sonu (name changed), a resident of Shardhanand Colony in Bhalaswa Dairy area was shot dead by another boy of the same age on Thursday night, they said. The police, however, arrested the alleged juvenile delinquent after checking the CCTV footage of nearby areas, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Gaurav Sharma. During interrogation, the minor accused said Sonu used to bully him and beat him up. He said two days before the incident, he had beaten up the accused following which he had decided to teach him a lesson, said police. The accused, along with his associate, procured a country-made pistol and fired at Sonu on Thursday night at around 11:30 PM, police said. 41-yr-old cab driver arrested for supplying illegal arms

A 41-year-old cab driver was arrested Friday from North Delhi's Dwarka area for allegedly supplying illegal arms in the national capital, police said. Rahul Singh alias Guddu, a resident of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested and four firearms -- three sophisticated pistols of .32 bore and one country made pistol of .315 -- along with two live cartridges were recovered from his possession, A K Singla, Additional Commissioner of police (Crime), said. Just a day after releasing a kid-appropriate Echo Dot, Amazon has been reportedly slapped with a pair of class-action lawsuits for Alexa, its voice-enabled assistant, which is accused of recording and storing the voices of children.According to the New York Post, the lawsuits, filed on behalf of an 8-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, allege that Alexa's voice recording and transcription technology makes kids vulnerable as it allows Amazon to access a large amount of data about the child's life, all without any consent.Meanwhile, Amazon stressed that it has strict guidelines in place to protect family security and privacy. A day after a man was arrested on sedition charges over his social media post on power cuts in Chhattisgarh, a journalist was Friday held for publishing a "false" news over electricity supply in Mahasamund district. Dilip Sharma, who runs an online news portal, was arrested based on a complaint lodged by Executive Engineer (EE) of electricity department, Mahasamund, S K Sahu, a police officer said.
