Two Border Security Force personnel were injured when a colleague, apparently annoyed with a superior officer, fired at them with his service rifle in an outpost in Rajasthan's Barmer district, police said on Tuesday. Head Constable M Prakash and Constable Purshottam Kumar were admitted to a hospital following the incident on Monday night. They are out of danger. The accused, Constable Vimal Kumar, was annoyed with one of his superior officers and opened fire at Prakash and Purshottam Kumar in BSF's Deepla outpost with his Insas rifle, Superintendent of Police (SP), Barmer, Rashi Dogra said. Vimal Kumar was taken into custody after BSF authorities informed the police about the incident on Tuesday morning. A case has been registered under relevant sections against the accused at a local police station, Dogra added.
At least eight people were killed and over 30 injured on Tuesday in a blaze in an eight-storey building in the French capital. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, the city prosecutor said.
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has informed the National Green Tribunal that an illegal motor vehicle sale and service unit, being run in residential area of Dhool Siras village in Dwarka, has been shut down. "Vide order dated November 28, 2018, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) was required to furnish a report in the matter. The Supreme Court Tuesday asked senior advocate Ranjit Kumar, who is assisting it as an amicus curiae in a matter related to administration of Jagannath temple in Puri, to visit the shrine to assess the ground reality there. A bench headed by Justice A K Sikri said this after the counsel appearing for Odisha argued that the amicus should visit the temple and himself see the situation there. A head constable of the Delhi Police was arrested in Bihar's Supaul district for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol during a raid on Monday.Consumption and sale of liquor is banned in Bihar.The head constable, named Mukesh Kumar, along with ASI S Dutta of K.N. A woman has been arrested over a deadly blaze that killed eight people in Paris and police are treating the fire as a possible arson attack, a prosecutor said Tuesday. A 61-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting and stalking a woman in Thane district of Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday. The 60-year-old woman, who worked as a domestic help, told the Naupada police that the accused, Prakash Mhatre, had allegedly been stalking her for last four months in the Makhmali Talao locality because of which she had to leave several jobs in the area, a police official said. She further alleged that while she was walking on a road in Naupada area on Monday, the accused came near her again and touched her inappropriately, he said.
