SFA to invest Rs 12.5 crore in Khelo India Youth Games over next 5 years

Sports For All (SFA), a multi-sport tech driven platform, has joined Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) as sponsor for the next five years. Through this strategic partnership, SFA will invest Rs 12.5 crore over the next five years. "Having overseen immense success through our innovative technology-based approach over the years across numerous multi-sport grassroots championships, SFA is delighted to come on board as the powered by sponsor for Khelo India," said Rishikesh Joshi, founder of SFA. Khelo India was introduced by the government to build a strong framework for all sports played at the grassroots in India and establish the country as a sporting superpower. Khelo India Youth Games to commence in Madhya Pradesh on Monday evening

The fifth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) will be inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the presence of Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur at Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium here on Monday evening. The KYIG 2022 will be held at 23 venues in eight cities of the state in which nearly 6,000 athletes will take part in 27 different sports, an official said. For the first time sports like kayaking, canoeing, canoe slalom and fencing will be part of the Khelo India Youth Games. "All preparations for organising the Khelo India Youth Games have been completed. The games will start from Monday in a glittering manner on the theme 'Hindustan Ka Dil Dhadka Do' for 13 days, Chouhan told reporters on Sunday. In poll year, MP CM announces scheme to give Rs 1,000 a month to poor women

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said his government will launch a new scheme to provide Rs 1,000 per month to women from financially poor background in the state, where the Assembly polls are due this year-end. A sum of Rs 60,000 crore will be spent on this scheme in five years, Chouhan said addressing a programme on the banks of the Narmada river in Narmadapuram city on Saturday evening. We will start the Ladli Bahina Scheme for poor women from lower and middle classes of all sections on the lines of the Ladli Lakshmi Scheme. An amount of Rs 1,000 per month which means Rs 12,000 per year will be given to our sisters, he said. In a tragic incident, a Sukhoi and a Mirage-2000 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district following an accident during a routine training mission on Saturday, killing a pilot. Officials said the two pilots of the Sukhoi-30MKI aircraft ejected safely while the pilot of the Mirage-2000 lost his life. "Two fighter aircraft of IAF were involved in an accident near Gwalior today morning," the IAF said in a statement. It said the aircraft were on a routine operational flying training mission. "One of the three pilots involved, sustained fatal injuries. An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident," the IAF said. Defence Ministry sources said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari on the crash of two IAF aircraft. Singh is monitoring the developments closely, the sources said.

India signs pact with S Africa to bring 12 more cheetahs in February

India has signed an agreement with South Africa to translocate 12 cheetahs to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, a senior official in the Union Environment Ministry said on Friday. The pact was signed last week and seven male and five female cheetahs are expected to reach Kuno by February 15, the official said. The 12 South African cheetahs have been in quarantine for more than six months and were expected to reach Kuno this month but the transfer was delayed as "some processes in South Africa took some time", the official said on condition of anonymity. Cheetah is the only large carnivore that got completely wiped out from India due to over-hunting and habitat loss. The last cheetah died in Koriya district of present-day Chhattisgarh in 1947 and the species was declared extinct in 1952.
