PM Modi to lay foundation stone for textile park in MP on Sept 17

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a textile park on September 17 in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district, an official said on Monday. Modi will turn 75 on September 17 and this will be his second visit to Madhya Pradesh on his birthday. On September 17, 2022, the PM released wild cheetahs brought from Namibia into an enclosure at the Kuno National Park in the state's Sheopur district. Seven dead during Ganesh idol immersion in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh

Ganesh festival culminated on a teary note for lakhs of devotees who bid farewell to the adorable elephant-headed god they consecrated and worshipped for ten days, while at least seven persons died in various incidents, including drowning, after immersing idols in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. In Maharashtra, four persons drowned and 13 went missing in various water bodies in Thane, Pune, Nanded, Nashik, Jalgaon, and Amravati districts, officials said on Sunday. In Mumbai city, where immersion processions extend several hours, a man died of electrocution and five other individuals sustained injuries, civic officials said. Cong, farmers protest fertiliser crisis in MP's Mauganj; over 500 detained

More than 500 Congress workers and farmers staged a protest in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj on Sunday, alleging fertiliser shortage and other issues, breaching a barricade erected by the police to prevent them from meeting Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Protesters in vehicles led by former Congress MLA Sukhendra Singh Bana clashed with the police, climbing over barricades to reach the chief minister, who was at a function in the Deotalab area 16 km away. The police erected barricades at the Bahuti bypass near Mauganj police station, and the protesters were not allowed to move ahead. "We detained more than 500 protesters for a while, and freed them after the chief minister's function got over. Inox Green inks O&M deals for 189 MWp solar projects across three states

Inox Green Energy Services on Wednesday said it has inked pacts with multiple customers to provide operations and maintenance services for 189.1 MWp of operational solar projects. According to a company statement, the pacts include 96.6 MWp with a global PE-backed Independent Power Producer (IPP) for their projects located in Maharashtra and 92.5 MWp with an IPP for their projects located in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. With these additions, Inox Green's solar O&M portfolio has touched 1.8 GW, taking the total renewable O&M portfolio to 5.3 GW, the statement added. Jakson Engineers to invest ₹8,000 cr to set up 6 GW solar mfg plant in MP

Jakson Engineers on Tuesday said it will invest over Rs 8,000 crore for setting up a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh. This is the largest solar manufacturing investment in the state, the company said in a statement. The company, part of energy and infrastructure solutions conglomerate Jakson Group, is investing over Rs 8,000 crore to establish a 6 GW integrated solar module, cell & wafer plant at Maksi Phase II in Madhya Pradesh, the statement said. The mega project will be developed in two phases across a 110-acre site, allocated to the company recently. Commencing site activities within 15 days, the company will commission manufacturing capacity of 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells in Phase I, with an investment of around Rs 2,000 crore. Sahara India regional manager arrested in Madhya Pradesh deposit fraud case

Sahara India's regional manager for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh was arrested on Sunday from Bhopal in connection with an alleged cheating case registered in MP's Sehore district, an official said. According to a police statement, one Rajaram Rathore had filed a complaint in January 2023 against the company's MP-CG regional manager Shivaji Singh, their Sehore branch manager S K Magarde, cashier Yogendra Chaudhary and another employee for allegedly duping him over his deposits. Based on the complaint, the Kotwali police had registered a case under Indian Penal Code sections, including 420 (cheating), and the Madhya Pradesh Protection of Depositors' Interest Act, it added. Considering the seriousness of the case, Superintendent of Police Deepak Shukla directed City Superintendent of Police Abhinandana Sharma and Kotwali police station in-charge inspector Ravindra Yadav to form a team to trace the accused, the statement said. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday said the state received investment proposals of Rs 56,414 crore from eight companies during the Mining Conclave 2.0' held in the Katni district. Speaking at the daylong event, he said MP never lagged in mineral resources and is now rapidly moving to develop itself as the country's mining hub. Four killed, 11 injured as mini bus collides with truck in MP's Shivpuri

Four persons were killed and 11 others injured after the mini bus they were travelling in collided with a small truck on a highway in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Saturday, police said. The accident occurred around 5 am on National Highway 46, around 30 km from the district headquarters, when the mini bus carrying a Gujarat-based music troupe was returning from a programme at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Survaya police station house officer (SHO) Arvind Chari told PTI. He said the bus driver lost control of the wheel, entered the wrong lane and collided with a small truck. The deceased included Hardik Dave (37), a singer in the music troupe, Raja Thakur (28), Ankit Thakur (17) and Rajendra Solanki (47), all members of the band, the SHO said. 2 killed, 3 injured in scuffle due to overcrowding at Kubreshwar Dham in MP

Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries after a scuffle broke out as crowds surged at Kubreshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district on Tuesday, police said. The incident occurred around 12 noon when a large number of devotees gathered to take part in the Kanwar Yatra, an official said. Kubreshwar Dham is associated with noted religious preacher Pandit Pradip Mishra. According to eyewitnesses, the Kanwar Yatra is scheduled on Wednesday, for which devotees had arrived in large numbers. A scuffle broke out because of overcrowding, killing two persons and injuring three others, they said. Rooftop solar plants will be installed in one crore households across the country by 2026-27 under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-SGMBY), Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Joshi also said that the central government has taken several initiatives and has been implementing various schemes and programmes for promotion and development of renewable energy in the country. Several people, including school children, were stranded in parts of Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district due to a flood-like situation after heavy rains, prompting the authorities to call the Army for rescue and relief work, officials said on Wednesday.
