NCRTC to introduce co-working spaces at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation is set to launch Metro-Desk, a co-working space at the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station, an official statement said on Saturday. This initiative aims to transform transit spaces into business-friendly hubs, marking a first-of-its-kind coworking model within the Namo Bharat network, the statement read. Designed to cater to professionals, entrepreneurs and small businesses in Ghaziabad and nearby areas, the workspace will be located in the station's concourse area, it stated. It will feature 42 open workstations, 11 private cabins, and two meeting rooms, accommodating up to 42 individuals and 11 companies at a time, it read. It also mentioned that the facility will offer high-speed internet, plug-and-play workstations, and modern amenities to ensure seamless productivity. The steel reinforcement cage for a pillar of the Thane-Wadala Metro Line 4 collapsed on the premises of a housing society in Mumbai, officials said on Friday. No one was injured in the accident that occurred around 11 pm on Thursday at Suman Nagar Junction in the Chunabhatti area, they said. No one was injured, but the metal sheet of the society's security cabin was damaged, said an official of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), adding that a team rushed to the spot for an inspection. PM inaugurates Pune Metro section, lays foundation for various projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects of Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra via video conference. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new underground Metro in Pune and lay the foundation stone for an elevated route on September 26. The DMRC has said that excise rules of states concerned prevail in case of the permission given to the commuters to carry two sealed liquor bottles in the Delhi Metro trains, saying people should be wary of any violations in case of cross border transit. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had in June last year allowed carrying two sealed liquor bottles per person in the Metro trains, eliciting the Delhi government objection that it was against the excise rules. The DMRC trains operate in the National Capital Region (NCR) covering Delhi as well as cities like Faridabad, Gurugram in Haryana and Ghaziabad and Noida in Uttar Pradesh. "Whatever the Delhi government has authorised us is (permitted). The excise rules of the particular state prevail," DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar told PTI. A pantograph of a Delhi Metro train caught fire at Rajiv Chowk station on Monday evening due to some external material getting caught between it and the overhead equipment for electrification, the DMRC said in a statement. A video of the incident is circulating online. In the video, the train doors are open and passengers are seen recording videos of the fire on their mobile phones. In reference to the viral video in which a minor fire is seen emanating from the roof of a train, this is to clarify that the incident pertains to a train at Rajiv Chowk station heading towards Vaishali around 6:21 pm, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in its statement. The extant incident was a case of pantograph flashing which occurs at times due to some external material getting stuck between overhead equipment for electrification (OHE) and pantograph.
