Government doctors in Odisha would now compulsorily get at least three promotions during their service period after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday approved a new Dynamic Assured Career Progression scheme for government physicians. "As per the new provision, all the Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS) cadre officers will get three assured promotions after 7, 14 and 21 years of continuous service from their entry-level," a statement issued by the Chief Ministers Office said. So far, there was no guarantee of promotions for physicians employed by the government. "This will encourage the members and bring about greater commitment and dedication," the statement added.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has become the first political outfit in Goa to announce the names of candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state. Average capital investment in railway projects in Gujarat grew over five times under the Modi government compared to the previous UPA government, said junior Railway Minister Manoj Sinha Wednesday. The Uttarakhand High Court Wednesday sought the deployment of additional doctors at government hospitals on contract basis due to ongoing strike by private doctors against the Clinical Establishments Act. The private doctors are protesting against the state government's refusal to bring about changes suggested by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010.
