PM to focus on Mission 2022 at meet with Council of Ministers
In his first-ever meeting with the new Council of Ministers on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to spell out his priorities for Mission 2022. Besides, he would also outline the road map of his government for the next five years.

The final phase of Bru repatriation from the six relief camps of Tripura is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, Mizoram Home Minister Lalchamliana said Wednesday, maintaining that the state will not entertain anyone who does not wish to return. In a written reply to a query from C Lalsawivunga of the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), Lalchamliana said preparations were afoot for the last phase of repatriation. "The state government does not want to continue entertaining anyone who does not want to return during the final repatriation process. It has held a dialogue in the matter with the Ministry of Home Affairs," he said. The preparations for the repatriation process, which were temporarily withheld during the parliamentary polls, have commenced, with the administration in Mizorams Mamit district holding talks with its counterparts in North Tripura and Assams Kolasib district, the home minister added. Governors of three states and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here. Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya, Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon and Kalyan Singh, the governor of Rajasthan, met Modi. The Prime Minister's Office tweeted pictures of these meetings. Goa govt begins survey over feasibility of 10 pc EWS quota
The Goa government is conducting a survey to find out how many people would benefit from the legislative amendment to provide 10 per cent quota in jobs and education to the economically weaker sections in the general category, a BJP leader said Wednesday. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant-led Cabinet on Monday passed a resolution to implement the 10 per cent quota for the economically weaker sections (EWS) in government jobs and education in the state, besides the existing reservations. The constitutional amendment to provide the 10 per cent quota was approved by Parliament in January this year and it later received assent of President Ram Nath Kovind. The Goa government's rural development and panchayati raj departments have begun collecting data on how many people in the state would actually benefit from the 10 per cent reservations for EWS, state BJP general secretary Narendra Sawaikar told reporters here. Yemen rebel attack wounds 26 at Saudi airport
A Yemeni rebel missile attack on an airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia wounded 26 civilians on Wednesday, the Saudi-led coalition fighting the rebels said. Eight of those wounded at Abha airport were admitted to hospital, coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency. The other 18 were discharged after receiving first aid. The Huthi rebels said earlier that they had launched a missile at the airport in the Saudi mountain resort city.

Goa BJP chief Vinay Tendulkar Wednesday claimed that 10 state Congress MLAs expressed their willingness in the last fortnight join the saffron party. Successor to longtime Kazakh ruler sworn in as president
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the hand-picked successor to Kazakhstan's longtime ruler, was inaugurated as president Wednesday after winning an election marred by a police crackdown and slammed by foreign monitors for "voting irregularities". The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted raids at 22 places in Uttar Pradesh, including the residence of former minister Gayatri Prajapati, in Amethi connection with a case of illegal sand mining between 2012 and 2016.The probe agency in January had filed a case against 11 people under Section 379, 384, 420, 511 of IPC and Section 13(2) and Section 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.On January 5, the CBI had carried out searches on 12 locations in the districts of Hamirpur, Jalon, Noida, Kanpur and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and in Delhi. Residences of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party leaders were also raided by the organisation in connection with the case.
