Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced free electricity to more than 11 lakh farmers who consume less than 2,000 units per month. Providing uninterrupted power supply for farming is a priority for the state government, the chief minister said in his Budget speech for 2023-24. Farmers consuming up to 2,000 units per month will get free electricity from the 2023-24 financial year, Gehlot said. He also announced the enactment of the Rajasthan Farmers Debt Relief Act in order to protect the land of small and marginal farmers from being auctioned off.

The Rajasthan government has approved an additional financial provision of Rs 100 crore for strengthening the traffic management system in the state. The Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) is being strengthened to prevent accidents and tackle the increasing traffic pressure on roads, according to an official statement. Chief Minister ashok Gehlot has approved an additional financial provision of Rs 100.99 crore for this purpose, it said. This system will play an important role in ensuring speedy action against traffic rule violators, according to a proposal. Road accidents due to over-speeding and overloaded vehicles will also be curbed with the strengthening of the ITMS, it said. The Rajasthan government on Monday signed agreements for investment worth Rs 1.36 lakh crore in the state. The investment was committed under Invest Rajasthan, which was held in October last year. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday launched 5G internet service in the state and urged the country's investigative agencies to get well-trained in dealing problems caused by cyber fraudsters. Speaking at an event during which 5G service was launched in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur cities of Rajasthan, Gehlot raised concerns over rising cyber frauds and the challenges internet has posed in the recent times.
