Jio-BP to build EV charging infrastructure for India unit of Citroen

Jio-BP, a fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and BP, will build EV charging infrastructure for India unit of French automobile manufacturer Citroen, the two firms said on Friday. "Jio-bp will install DC fast chargers across Citron's key dealership network and workshops across the country in phases. "These chargers will also be open to the entire universe of EV car customers to help boost EV adoption among consumers," the two firms said in a statement. With the New Citron -C3 All Electric scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2023, this partnership will ensure Jio-bp's charging infrastructure network is accessible via an app. Jio-bp currently operates a rapidly expanding network of EV charging and swapping stations under the Jio-bp pulse brand. Reliance Jio rolls out 5G service in five cities across Tamil Nadu

Reliance Jio Infocomm has invested Rs 40,446 crore as it expanded the footprint in the Tamil Nadu with the unveiling of True 5G services in five cities, a top company official said on Wednesday. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd State Business head Hemanth Kumar Guruswamy said 45 people out of every 100 people were using Jio services in the State. The company today rolled out True 5G services in Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Hosur and Vellore in addition to the facility already being available in Chennai. Minister for Information Technology and Digital Srrvices T Mano Thangaraj launched the 5G services in the five cities at an event in the city. Kumar said the company would generate one lakh jobs directly and indirectly. According to him, over 20,000 towers were deployed across cities while optic fibre cables were laid in about 77,000 km across Tamil Nadu for the service. Reliance Jio announces launch of its 5G services in 10 more cities

Telecom operator Reliance Jio on Monday announced the launch of its 5G services in 10 more cities. These include Agra, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Tirupati, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), Kozhikode, Thrissur (Kerala), Nagpur, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), according to a Jio statement. Jio users in these cities will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer to experience unlimited data at up to 1 Gbps-plus speeds, at no additional cost, starting Monday. With the latest announcement, Jio's 5G services are now live in 85 cities. "We are proud to roll-out Jio True 5G services in these 10 cities across 4 states. Private telecom company Reliance Jio launched 5G internet service in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur on Saturday. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot formally launched Jio's 5G internet services in these cities. During the inaugural event, the chief minister said that this service is a revolutionary step in the field of information technology and telecommunication. Jio Platforms inks pact with SOA University to set up 5G lab in Bhubaneswar

Digital services company Jio Platforms on Thursday said it has signed an agreement with SOA University to set up a 5G lab in Bhubaneswar. The proposed lab will help in meeting the growing requirements of research and training in the latest 5G standards, including 5G standalone (SA), Jio Platforms said in a statement. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) also includes facilitation for the development of use-cases on the 5G platform as well as other associated technology domains such as Beyond 5G (B5G) and optical fiber, it added. Jio Platforms is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL).

Telecom operators Jio and Bharti Airtel on Thursday started their 5G services in the state capital. The 5G services of both the companies were unveiled by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at an event here. Vaishnaw said that the Narendra Modi government has sanctioned a total of Rs 5,600 crore for telecom services in Odisha in the 2022-23 and 5,000 mobile towers will be installed across the state for world class communication facilities. Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman said that the government has also dedicated 100 towers for 4G services in rural areas of the state.
