It is an NDA government that is taking oath this time and not a "Modi government", RJD leader Manoj Jha said on Sunday and expressed hope that the ruling dispensation will work on issues such as providing employment. Jha also said the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will not attend the swearing-in ceremony and the INDIA coalition will be represented by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Narendra Modi will on Sunday take oath for a third consecutive term as prime minister, along with members of his council. "The NDA government is taking oath today ... After a long time, it is not the Modi government anymore, it is the NDA government," Jha told PTI Videos. "We hope it will create less polarisation in society this time, the lives of the weaker sections are improved and the government is free of crony capitalism. The biggest requirement of youngsters today is employment, so employment is a big issue, he should work on it," the RJD leader added.

The BJP on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging RJD president Lalu Prasad violated the model code of conduct while casting his vote in Patna. In the complaint, signed by several office bearers of the state BJP, including legal cell head SD Sanjay, it was alleged that Prasad entered the booth with a "gamcha" around his neck, on which the RJD's poll symbol, the lantern, was printed. "It appeared Prasad was trying to influence voters inside the polling station. This is clearly a violation of Representation of People Act and Model Code of Conduct," said the complaint. "It is, therefore, requested that a case be registered against the RJD president, who is also a former Chief Minister of Bihar," it added.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday asserted that the INDIA bloc, of which his party was a part, would form the next government at the Centre and that the ruling BJP-led NDA was on its way out. The former Bihar Deputy CM, who spearheaded the Lok Sabha polls campaign of the opposition coalition in the state, was talking to reporters here after casting his vote. "The INDIA coalition will form the government after results are out on June 4. The NDA will be voted out", claimed the 34-year-old leader, whose exertions have left him with an injured spine, causing him to move around in a wheelchair. The RJD seemed to share ally Congress' skepticism over exit polls, when asked about the latter's decision not to take part in TV debates on the post-poll surveys. "You tell me who are the people conducting these exit polls and which one of these should we take seriously? The fact is, we have been on the ground, among people, and we have a first-hand sense of the public mood", asserted Yadav.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh also posed several questions to the prime minister ahead of his rallies in Bihar. "Why has the outgoing PM failed to reopen the Motihari Sugar Mill? Why were ambulances purchased using a BJP MP's funds caught smuggling alcohol? What happened to the 1.25 lakh crore package the PM had promised in 2015?" Ramesh said in a post on X. Elaborating on what he said were "jumla details," he said, "It has been 10 years since the outgoing PM promised that his government would reopen the Motihari Sugar Mill during his 2014 campaign. He had explicitly stated that he would come back to Motihari, and drink chai made with sugar from the long-defunct mill. Maybe this is why he has not gone back in 10
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday alleged that there will be jungle raj in the country if INDIA bloc partners - Congress and RJD - are voted to power. Addressing an election rally in favour of BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, in Bihar's Samastipur district, Shah said, This is not the first time earlier Rs 350 crore was recovered from the house of a Congress MP in Jharkhand, and now the recovery of more than Rs 30 crore.
