Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia being sentenced for drugs possession while on a skiing holiday to Japan could mean trouble for the Indian Premier League team. As per the Operational Rules of the cash-rich league, no team official involved with the league can act in a manner which brings disrepute to the team, the league, the BCCI or the game on or off the field. If guilty, the persons action can even lead to suspension of the team.

World Grappling Championship U-19 team devoid of practice mats, seek financial help

A group of grapplers in the under-19 category, who were selected to participate in the World Grappling Championship to be held in Kazakhstan in September 2019, are seeking financial help to buy practice mats for their academy.The grapplers say despite having performed at the national and international levels, they lack basic facilities to practice."We went to Bhutan. I got a gold medal in the South Asian Championship. We need proper training and we want a mat for the academy. We urged the concerned authorities to provide us a mat so that we can practice but they did not pay heed to our request," Priyanka, one of the grapplers, told ANI.The grapplers said their coach is providing them training free of cost."Our coach in Dharamshala is training us for free but lack of equipment is a big obstacle. Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal took a memorable hat-trick in a five overs a side contest that was eventually called off due to intermittent rain, pushing Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the IPL play-off race here on Tuesday. AAI picks 'wrong coaches' for World Cup

In a latest controversy to hit Indian archery, governing body AAI has picked 'wrong coaches' to accompany the team to the World Cup Stage II in Shanghai from May 6-12. The AAI has also named dope-tainted compound women's archer Anita Kumari, who had returned a positive result for propanolol beta blocker for her urine sample collected during the Khelo India Youth Games in Pune January. Anita had made the side from the selection trials held in Bhubaneswar last month but now AAI is all set to drop the archer. With no permanent coach in archery, AAI follows the norm to send personal coaches of the players selected for the tournament. But this time, selection of Ved Kumar and Kailash in the recurve and compound women's sections has raised eyebrows. Wimbledon chiefs have suggested they may extend the deadline for Andy Murray to apply for a wildcard to compete at this year's championships as the two-time winner battles to regain fitness.
