Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) on Thursday said it has partnered with Tata Strive, a skill development initiative of Tata Trust, to set up a hospitality-focused skill centre at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. "Rajasthan has a very strong growth potential in the tourism sector. We are delighted to partner with Tata Strive for the skill centre in Jodhpur, which will offer skill-building programmes to youth and also contribute to the overall growth of the industry, IHCL Executive Vice President - Human Resources Gaurav Pokhariyal said. The first batch with 20 students is being trained in a 4-month food and beverage course, whose module is designed by IHCL as a knowledge partner and is aligned to National Skill Development Corporation with Tata Strive as an implementation partner. This collaboration represents a significant step in IHCL's mission to contribute to the skill development and upliftment of individuals from economically weaker backgrounds, the statement added.

As it works on improving services, Air India on Friday said it is sending out questionnaires to customers to every day and has received good response through its digitalised customer feedback mechanism. Air India, which was taken over by Tata Group in January last year, started sending questionnaires to travellers to identify areas for improvement to meet customer expectations in March. The Net Promoter Score (NPS)-based customer feedback mechanism has received more than 1,40,000 responses in three months, the airline said in a release. In his message to staff on Friday, Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said that over the last three months, the airline has expanded NPS to cover the entire physical customer journey, from check-in, through to lounges, in-flight experience and the arrival process, and will be extended to the online and call centre experiences. The Tata Group is expected to pick the UK as the preferred site for the lucrative electric battery plant to supply its Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) requirements, a media report said on Wednesday.
