Wayanad (Kerala), Apr 04 (ANI): Congress president Rahul Gandhi along with sister and party's general secretary UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Wayanad to file his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Hundreds of party supporters gathered to welcome Rahul. The supporters also conducted a rally to show support to the Congress president.
Siliguri (WB)/ New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Body of a 42-year-old man was found hanging at Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) booth office in Siliguri early morning today. Police investigation is underway on the matter. Speaking on the matter, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, "There is 'jungle raaj' going on in Bengal, there is nothing named law and justice there. BJP workers are constantly being killed there. Is Trinamool Congress (TMC) a political party or an organisation that murders people? This is very unfortunate. The people of Bengal will answer to this through voting. WB CM Mamata Banerjee thinks she can do anything being the state's chief minister, but it's the people who elects the CM and also removes the CM."
Saharanpur (UP), Apr 04 (ANI): Two criminals were arrested after an encounter with police in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. Both criminals were injured during the encounter. Deoband Circle Officer Ajay Kumar said, "Two criminals were escaping from Badgaon police station and after we received inputs about it police team chased them and encounter began. The criminals were injured during the encounter and are undergoing treatment now. During investigation, the criminals have accepted a number of crimes they had committed."
Muzaffarabad (PoK), Apr 04 (ANI): People in Muzaffarabad city of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) took to the streets in the wake of a cold blooded custodial killing of Raja Waqar Turk, a political activist on Tuesday. They shouted anti-police and anti-government slogans. The protesters, who blocked the road and burnt tyres in anger, also demanded an immediate probe into the death of activist. In an attempt to quell the mounting anger against the administration and save itself from media and public scrutiny, the government has formed an enquiry commission which comprises of people who were perpetrators of the crime. An incriminating CCTV footage-in which a group of policemen are seen going inside the premises where Raja was detained is suggestive of an orchestrated barbarity. After this thrashing Raja was allegedly thrown off a building in which he sustained grave injuries.

To welcome the Congress president, a large group of party supporters and locals took to the street. The people could be seen with party flags and raising slogans in favour of Rahul. Special deployment of security forces has also been made ahead of the Congress president's visit. Senior Congress leader K C Venugopal said, "Beyond our expectation people are coming from everywhere, because this is the first time a Congress president is coming for fighting election from Kerala."

There won't be much heat wave condition in Delhi-NCR as pre-monsoon activity has begun. Dust-storm expected on 5-6 April and around 11-12 April. Temperature will keep fluctuating". He further added, "Southwest MP, North interior Karnataka, Marathwada, Vidarbha will receive very less rainfall. Parts of Bihar and adjoining parts in Jharkhand will receive less rainfall. Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra will receive moderate rainfall. Delhi, Punjab, Haryana-below normal rainfall".
Dhekiajuli (Assam), Apr 04 (ANI): A female royal Bengal tiger was rescued by forest officials in Assam.It was tranquilised and sent to Assam State Zoo from Borsola area under Dhekiajuli revenue circle on Tuesday. It took 3-hours to capture the tiger and a team comprising DFO Orang National Park, WTI tranquilizing expert Rinku Buragohain and other forest officials from Dhekiajuli and Orang were involved in it.

The cash was seized from a vehicle during inspection. The cash has been handed over to election flying squad of Srikalahasti. Further investigation is underway.
New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): A new study has revealed that plant-based diet was effective in reducing gingivitis. The trial was published in the 'Journal of Clinical Periodontology'. "Study results clearly demonstrate the possibility to naturally reduce gingivitis by an optimized diet that also promotes general health," said lead author Dr. Johan Woelber. The trial incorporated 30 patients already suffering from gingivitis in an experimental and controlled group. The patients were put on the said diet for four weeks. The new diet included low processed carbohydrates and animal proteins, rich omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, vitamin D, antioxidants, plant nitrates, and fibers. The group experienced a notable drop in bleeding due to gingivitis. The group also depicted an increase in vitamin D values and slight weight loss. New Delhi, Apr 03 (ANI): Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola today said that debt-laden Jet Airways is currently operating less than 15 planes and its eligibility to fly on international routes needs to be examined. An airline needs to have a 20-aircraft fleet and 120 daily domestic flights to fly international. Kharola's comments came a day after Jet Airways said 15 more aircraft have been grounded due to non-payment of amounts outstanding to lessors under their respective lease agreements. The airline has over one billion dollars in debt. The banks were to release an immediate debt funding of Rs 1,500 crore for Jet to tide over the current crisis. Thane (Maharashtra), Apr 03 (ANI): A Thane court on Tuesday summoned Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Communist Party of India (Marxist)-CPIM general secretary Sitaram Yechury to appear before it on April 30 in a civil defamation suit filed by a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist against them for alleging a RSS hand in the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh. Vivek Champanerkar has sought Rs 1 each from Gandhi and Yechury as token compensation, claiming that the duo "defamed" RSS by linking it to Lankesh's murder. Lankesh was murdered outside her residence in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017. A Mumbai court is also hearing a criminal defamation case filed by RSS activist and lawyer Dhrutiman Joshi against Gandhi and Yechury over the same issue.
