Food festival organised in Imphal to give taste of rich Tangkhul cuisine

Imphal (Manipur), Dec 23 (ANI): A three-day food festival 'Native Flavours' was held in Manipur's Imphal. The festival celebrated the rich lineage of Tangkhul cuisine. People joined the celebration to enjoy the native delicacies. A total of 15 stalls catered the visitors with mouth-watering delicacies. A stall owner said, "The main motive of organising this festival is to showcase the exotic cuisine of Tangkhul community. We have made delicacies of the Tangkhuls' available for the people." The festival was organised by Langei International in collaboration with the department of tourism.

Tamil Nadu's first cat show attracts pet lovers

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Dec 23 (ANI): A cat show was organised for the first time in Tamil Nadu on December 22. The show was organised by the Coimbatore Cattery Club. It was supported by World Cat Federation (WCF) and Alliance of Cat Fanciers (ACF). More than 150 felines of 20 different breeds participated in the show. Cats of fine breeds such as Persian, British Short Hair and Bengal Cat were brought by their owners to participate in the show. The show was organised to promote knowledge for cat breeders. Cats are judged based on their breed, look and mannerism.

Police books Tejashwi Yadav for protesting against CAA in Patna's restricted area

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Patna police on Sunday booked Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav amongst others for protesting against CAA in Patna's restricted area. Ruckus broke out on Dak Bunglow crossing in Patna during the 'Bihar Bandh' called by RJD. Case has been filed against Tejashwi Yadav, Jagadanand Singh and others. RJD has given 'Bihar Bandh' call against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 on Dec 21.

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now clarified in his speech that no proposal of NRC had come in front of the cabinet. "AAP does not indulge in hate politics. Due to CAA, people were frightened. Poor people were afraid as they do not have the required papers. Today PM clarified in his speech that no proposal of NRC had come in front of the cabinet. 19 Lakh people were excluded due to NRC. 20 lives could have been saved, if PM Modi had clarified NRC at first place," said Sanjay Singh.

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): While addressing a press conference, Congress leader Anand Sharma countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement about NRC and said that opposition hasn't brought this issue out of a vacuum. "Opposition hasn't brought this issue out of a vacuum. There is context to that. It's the Home Minister's statement in both the Houses, it's in public domain. That has to be then duly clarified. That has created an environment of fear, insecurity and uncertainty in the country. It's primarily the government which is responsible for that," said Anand Sharma. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi in the national capital said, "Ever since my government came to power in 2014 from then until now, there has been no discussion on NRC anywhere. We implemented it in Assam to follow SC directives."
