India, Nepal to improve road connectivity to enhance bilateral trade

Birgunj, Nepal, Jan 17 (ANI): To enhance bilateral trade, India and Nepal have started laying emphasis on improving road, rail and air connectivity between the two neighbours. Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimlendra Nidhi, at an event in Birgunj said, better road connectivity between the two countries will enhance bilateral trade. The event organised by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce was also attended by India's Member of Parliament Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal.

Locals voice their outrage over Pakistan's support to Taliban

Herat (Afghanistan), Jan 15 (ANI): A large number of Afghan citizens held a demonstration in Herat to voice their outrage over Pakistan's support for Taliban which led to the killing of five diplomats of the United Arab Emirates. The protest, which took place outside the Pakistan Consulate, saw slogans being chanted against the Pakistani government, and also set fire to the Flag of the Pakistan Army's intelligence arm, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Pakistan Army using Pashtun girls as sex workers: Separatist Pashtun leader

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/ New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Umar Daud Khattak, a separatist Pashtun leader, has shockingly alleged that the Pakistan Army has abducted hundreds of Pashtun girls in Lahore and using them as as sex workers and slaves, during military operations in Swat and Waziristan. He also said that Pakistan raises money by pushing Pashtun women into the flesh trade, adding that there are proof and evidences to support his claim. He added that the Pakistan Army has been in the dock over human rights violations against women in tribal areas time and again.

New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): While interacting with media at Foreign Correspondent' Club of South Asia in New Delhi, Nepal envoy to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay said in Parliamentary democracy we should follow the rule of law. He added that Nepal has already made two amendments in the constitution and are in process of making some more amendments to fulfill the demand of agitating parties.

Daifuku provides automated warehousing solution

India / Malaysia, Jan 07 (ANI): India's largest selling spice brand, Everest, has set up a new manufacturing unit at Umbergaon in Gujarat. The 50-year-old company manufactures a range of 45 products, both blended and pure spices, for which it requires 60 types of raw materials from different parts of the country. To cope with the storage problem of perishable material, the company chooses Japan's Daifuku for a complete warehousing solution. Everest has plans to produce 400 tonnes of spices everyday from the new facility and requires storage of 1,200 tonnes of raw material. The automated storage and retrieval system has 2160 locations in six banks. Each bank can store 30 bags with a maximum weight of 800 kg apiece at each level. The bags are managed by barcodes generated electronically. 5 dead, 8 injured after gunman opens fire at Fort Lauderdale Airport

Opposition hit the street to oppose constitution amendment

Students protest against age restriction on contesting elections

Youth preserving traditional Chokkra dance

Bardia, Nepal, Jan 04(ANI): Chokkra Naach, mainly performed by a group of about 12 people, follows the tune of 'Madal', one of the traditional musical instruments of Nepal. Aruna Chaudhary, a teenager from Khaireni, who leads one such group, said that she along with her group members choreographs and performs the dance on various occasions. Madhesis welcome SC's nod to Constitution amendment bill

Kathmandu, Jan 03 (ANI): Nepal's' Supreme Court ruled that the Parliament can take up a bill to amend the country's new Constitution, a decision that will provide relief to the government and agitating political parties from the Madhes region. With the ruling of the Supreme Court, the Opposition CPN-UML decided not to stop the parliametary procedure. The meeting held in UML's Parliamentary office in Baneshwor, the UML decided to let the parliamentary procedure go ahead but has stayed firmed on their demand of withdrawing the tabled amendment proposal. The opposition alliance of 9 parties including CPN- UML has halted the proceedings in the parliament for more than a month.
