Fire breaks out at Meghmani unit

A fire broke out at Meghmani Organic Ltd's (MOL) pigment manufacturing unit at Panoli in Vadodara district this morning.
 
Five fire tenders from nearby Vadodara were called and fire was brought under control immediately. No one was injured in this incident as the fire broke out in the compound near the manufacturing unit.
 
Company officials confirmed this and added that there was some damage to the material and the company is surveying the damage.
 
Ashish Soparkar, MD, Meghmani Organics Ltd, told Business Standard, "The early morning fire broke out at our pigment manufacturing unit located at Panoli in Vadodara district. However, the fire was minor and for safety we called the nearby fire station. Fire was brought under control with the help of five fire tankers."
 
"No one was injured in this incident and the fire has not damaged the manufacturng unit at all. No one was injured in the incident and the manufacturing unit is also operational. There are reports of some damage to the material lying in the compound," Soparkar said and added that they have not yet found the reason for the fire.
 
"We are nvestigating it as per ISO 9001 regulations. We can calculate the final value of damage to the property and material once the investigation concludes."
 
Rs 600 crore worth MOL claims to be the largest manufacturer of pigment blue in the world and is the largest producer of pesticide in India. Panoli Plant as established in 1996 to manufacture CPC Blue.
 
CPC Blue is a key raw material used for the manufacture of pigment blue and pigment green products. The company also has a pigment manufacturing unit at Vatva GIDC in Ahmedabad, an agrochemical manufacturing plant each at Chharodi and Ankleshwar.
 
The company recently announced its plans to set up a Caustic Chlorine Complex (CCP) in Dahej. The company plans to invest Rs 504 crore in the first phase of the complex.
