Prime Focus is equity partner for Sin City 2

Company to also get a share in collections from the movie

Prime Focus World (PFW), a part of Prime Focus Ltd and which provides VFX and 3D technology, will be an equity partner in the movie, Sin City 2.

People in the know said the company was choosing a high-risk-high-return model for this project. Prime Focus will be the exclusive VFX partner for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (also called Sin City 2). It will charge the producers half the fees outright, while the other half will be recovered from its share in the box office collections.

The trend in the special-effects technology industry has been of movie makers hiring a group of service providers on a project basis. This is one of the few instances where PFW will be solely responsible for supplying effects to nearly 2,000 shots in the movie.
