Bosch launches garden tools in India

Bosch Ltd aims to corner a majority of India’s lawn and garden tool market which is presently estimated in the range of Rs 250-300 crore and is witnessing an annual growth rate of 25 per cent in recent times.

“Though Europe accounts for a majority of our company’s lawn and garden tool market, this market is also witnessing a substantial growth in India,” Vijay Pandey, vice president, Power Tools division of Bosch Limited said here on the sidelines of launching garden tool equipment here.

The company, today, launched seven garden tool equipment in the Indian market in a bid to corner a larger share of this emerging market.

 

These products will be marketed through 45 stores of the company in the initial phase and will be extended to 50 more stores in future.

Referring to targeted consumer group, Pandey said, “Both retail and corporate consumers will be our targeted audience.”

There is growing market for garden tools among retail customers as more people start residing in apartments with a terrace garden, he added.

Garden tools of Bosch will be powered by lithium-ion batteries and are environment-friendly, he said.

About its entry into the Indian market, Frank Toma, managing director of Bosch Power Tools said, “ We are the market leader in power tools in European market and want to be part of the growth story of emerging markets like India and China.”

The present garden tools will be marketed in the metros and other big cities through 600 power tool dealers of the company, Pandey said.
