| Ess Dee Aluminium Q3 net at Rs 9 cr |
| Ess Dee Aluminium, one of the leading manufacturers of packing material for the pharmaceutical industry, posted a net profit of Rs 9.16 cr for the quarter ended December 2006. |
| The company's net profit for the nine-month period ended December 2006 was Rs 21.14 cr. It reported sales of Rs 53.19 crore for the December quarter, with sales for the nine-month period at Rs 136.63 crore. |
| The comparative figures for the corresponding quarter are not available as the company got listed in the quarter under review. The company increased its aluminium foil production capacity from 3,600 tpa to 9,100 tpa during the December 2006 quarter by commissioning its second rolling mill. |
| Infotech Enterprises net up 153% to Rs 18 cr |
| Infotech Enterprises recorded Rs 18.07 crore net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with Rs 7.13 crore in the corresponding period last year, reflecting a growth of 153 per cent. Total income grew 76 per cent to Rs 93.35 crore compared with Rs 53.02 crore in the corresponding previous year's quarter. |
| On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit rose 69 per cent to Rs 20 crore as compared with Rs 11.8 crore in the corresponding period last year, while its total income stood at Rs 143.06 crore compared with Rs 95.27 crore, registering a growth of 50 per cent. |
| The company added 409 associates, including 321 in the geospatial solutions design (GSD) vertical, apart from eight customers, including five in the GSD and three in the EMI verticals during the quarter. It also witnessed a strong order intake in Europe for geospatial work of over 6 million pounds. |
| Alembic PAT rises 5% to Rs 25 cr |
| The Vadodara-based Alembic with Rs 700 crore turnover has registered a 5 per cent growth in its net profit. Alembic's net increased from Rs 23.91 crore in the third quarter ended December 2005 to Rs 25.10 crore in the December 2006 quarter. |
| The sales increased by 8 per cent to Rs 191.33 crore for the third quarter ended on December 2006 compared with Rs 177.11 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company recorded a growth in its formulations exports, as it grew by 85 per cent to Rs 17.79 crore from Rs 9.64 crore during the period under review. |
| However, its domestic formulations business grew by a mere 3 per cent. The company's exports and domestic API business grew by 8 per cent each. The domestic API segment grew from Rs 203 crore in Q3 FY06 to Rs 219.7 crore in Q3 FY07. |
