Malabar Gold to open new showroom

Malabar Gold, one of the largest chain gold jewellry showrooms of south India, will open its new showroom at Kochi on April 29. The new addition, the 14th in the series, will be inaugurated by actor Mohan Lal.
 
MP Ahamed, chairman of Malabar Gold, said the group planned to open more showrooms across the country.
 
The group will add 6 showrooms across south India by the end of the current year and would have the largest number of showrooms in the country by 2008. It has already identified cities like Salem, Coimbatore, Trichy and Thiruvananthapuram for opening new showrooms and will add one more in Bangalore.
 
Talking to Business Standard, he said that the group would also target the West Asia and would enter the market in 2007. Showrooms would be opened at Dubai, Qatar,
 
Kuwait, Sharjah and Abu Dabi soon. The group, which has a turnover of Rs 800 crore, also plans to construct apartments and malls in major towns of south India.
 
He said in next two years, malls would be opened at Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Similar projects will also be launched in other major cities of south India.
 
Spread over 10,000 sft at the Malabar Cochin Arcade on MG Road, the new edition will provide a wide range of traditional and designer bridal jewelry.
 
It will also feature 10 international brands of premium watches "� Tag Heur, Omega, Rado, Tissot, Espirit, Accurate, Citizen, Caterpillar, Police and D4Swiss with a price range of Rs 3,000-2 lakh.
 
He also said that Malabar Gold had introduced for the first time a children's play area with an attendant to take care of the children.
