Maruti Sept domestic sales up 22%

Maruti Udyog today reported a 22.01% increase in domestic sales at 56,606 vehicles in September 2006 as compared to 46,393 vehicles in the year-ago period.

Total sales during the month stood at 59,420 vehicles, including 2,814 units of exports, a company statement said.

Sales in the domestic A2 segment (Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift) grew 28.9% to 37,955 units when compared with 29,456 units in September 2005.

Sales in the A3 segment (Baleno and Esteem) increased 7.6% to 3,410 units from 3,168 units sold for the same period last year.
