Ocimum joins BioIT

Ocimum Biosolutions, an integrated life-sciences solutions provider, has joined the BioIT Alliance in the quest to address the growing need for intelligent informatics solutions in the global life-sciences sector.

Formed in 2006, the BioIT Alliance is a cross-industry group working to integrate science and technology in order to accelerate the pace of drug discovery and realise the potential of personalised medicine.

Its founding members include Accelrys Software Inc, Agilent Technologies Inc, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc, Applied Biosystems, Discovery Biosciences Corporation, Geospiza Inc, Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP, Illumina Inc, InterKnowlogy, Microsoft Corporation and Sun Microsystems Inc.

This platform further strengthens our goals to come up with affordable solutions for catering to diverse economies," Subash Lingareddy, president of Ocimum Biosolutions, stated in a press release.
