SriLankan Air unveils special tourist package in Kerala

Positioning Kerala high on its agenda, SriLankan Holidays, the leisure arm of SriLankan Airlines, has unveiled unique travel packages to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka for passengers from the state.
 
Srilankan Airlines passengers from the three Kerala cities of Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will have a choice of several different exciting packages, a senior official of the airlines told Business Standard.
 
Elaborating on the offers, the official said, "One option is to holiday in either Thailand, Singapore or Malaysia. The offer includes return economy class air fare, two-nights of hotel stay on bed-and-breakfast basis, a city tour, and airport transfers at the destination. Holiday packages are priced at Rs 16,500 to Thailand , Rs 18,000 to Malaysia, and Rs 18,000 to Singapore. The offer will extend up to 30 November".
 
SriLankan Airlines, which is the largest foreign airline operating in India, serves the three big cities in Kerala with 31 flights a week.
 
Other holiday options include return economy class air fares to either Thailand for Rs 15,000, Malaysia for Rs 16,000 or Singapore for Rs 16,000 with a stay in Sri Lanka that includes two nights in the coastal resort of Negombo. However, these packages include airport transfers.
 
According to the airline company, holidaymakers can also relax on the beach in Sri Lanka at a star hotel in Negombo, which is 15 minutes away from the airport and one hour north of Colombo, for Rs 10,500 per person.
 
Travellers also have the option of extending their stay at any destination at an additional charge. At present, travellers have a wide choice days to fly as SriLankan Airlines operates flights to Colombo from Kozhikode 8 times a week, from Kochi 11 times a week, and from Thiruvanathapuram 12 times a week.
 
Flights take off from Colombo to Thailand 7 times a week, to Malaysia 15 times a week, and to Singapore 16 times a week, the company added.
 
It may be recalled that the airline recently inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with the Kerala government in a bid to boost tourist traffic.
