The Karnataka government has made e-tracking of Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) applications mandatory to bring in more transparency and accountability.
This is expected to streamline the process of PMEGP and also become a strong management information system tool to monitor the scheme, said a senior official from Khadi and Village Industries Commission, the nodal agency for coordinating and implementing the scheme.
This flagship scheme of the Ministry of MSME will be coordinated and implemented in rural areas by the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) and the District Industries Centre (DIC) in the urban areas.
