Murthy still heading new airport

Our Bureau Chennai/ Bangalore
It has been over five months since Infosys chief mentor and chairman N R Narayana Murthy tendered his resignation from the post of chairman of the Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL). But, the Karnataka government is yet to accept it.

"The government has not taken a decision on accepting the resignation. Consequently, there is no proposal to find a new chairman to head the BIAL," deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa told the legislative assembly here on Monday in his written reply.

Narayanamurthy had resigned on October 22, 2005 after former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda questioned the former's contribution in implementing the BIAL project.
