No threat to coalition govt: Gowda

There's absolutely no threat to the coalition government in the state.

There will be a smooth transition of power in October provided each party lives up to the spirit of the common minimum programme, said H D Deve Gowda, former prime minister and JD(S) supremo.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Gowda said both partners must be aware that all 'economic policies' grants or allocations are paid through the tax payers' nose and hence accountable to the last penny. It is of utmost importance for the success of 'economic policies' in general for the popularity of any governing party.

A lack of focus on farmers and the working class has been the bane of the economy and he had made a representation in this regard to the Prime Minister and the finance minister, he said.
