Panel wants ministry for NGOs

A committee of the Planning Commission, headed by Sayida Hameed, has proposed setting up of a ministry of voluntary affairs on the lines of the ministry of corporate affairs, to govern the NGO sector “by laying down certain norms and standards for self-regulation”.
