Press Trust of India Hyderabad
In a bid to make fool-proof arrangements for the conduct of free and fair elections in Andhra Pradesh, each polling booth would be manned by six people besides security personnel.

About 56,267 polling booths are being set up in the state for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, additional chief electoral officer Ajay Sahaney told mediapersons here.

Besides a presiding officer, five polling officers would be deployed in each polling booth on election duty and to assist the voters to exercise their franchise on electronic voting machine (EVM), he said.

A total of 3.3 lakh employees of state and central governments would be deployed on election duty in two phases of elections to be held on April 20 and 26, he said.

Of the total electorates of 5,10,30,033 registered in the state, photo identity cards have been issued to over 3.93 crore voters, the additional chief electoral officer added.
