WB govt to expedite pension for school teachers

West Bengal government is making efforts to expedite pension payments to retired school teachers, state education minister Bratya Basu said.

Replying during the question hour session in the assembly here on Monday, Basu said the government had taken the decision not to delay pension payments to retired teachers.

He said from 1977 to 2011, there were substantial number of cases of teachers not being paid their retirement dues. The government was examining them issue and would redress the cases at the earliest.
