Work on B'lore intl airport progressing smoothly

| The much-delayed Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli is on schedule and the work is on in full-swing as originally planned, officials of Bangalore International Airport Limited said. |
| According to them, work on the airport terminal building is in their different stages. The concreting of the terminal building columns, raft slab, mezzanine floor slab and the retaining wall in the basement is in progress. |

| According to the company's release, at the Air Traffic Control Technical Block, the major concreting works have been completed. The foundation concreting for the aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) building and the maintenance buildings are progressing. |
| Earthworks for the runway and taxiway are progressing steadily. Of the 4 km runway, cutting and filling works for 4,000 metres is progressing. |
| Granular sub-base (GSB) laying works in the runway and taxiways is also progressing. Similar cut and fill earthworks on the large apron and taxiway areas are also progressing. Installation of the drainage pipes in the apron area has begun. |
| Officials added that the first of the concessionaire sites has been handed over to the aviation fuel facility. |
